Contrary to what far too many people believe, the mind is not always a good guide. Why is that?

"Contrary to what far too many people believe, the mind is not always a good guide. Why is that? Because it doesn’t look beyond appearances. Yes, what goes on in a young girl’s mind? She thinks, ‘This boy who’s asking you to marry him is rich, handsome, elegant, has pleasing manners, why hesitate? Marry him – you’d be really stupid to miss such an opportunity.’ This is what the mind reckons on the basis of appearances alone. And once she is married, this young girl will discover that her young man, who seemed so agreeable in every way, is cruel, selfish and dishonest… How much suffering and grief she could have saved herself if, instead of listening to the workings of her mind, she had sounded out her heart and her intuition!

Of course, this is only one example. Think of all the situations in life where working things out with your mind can only bring disappointment and regret, and draw your own conclusions."

Re: Contrary to what far too many people believe, the mind is not always a good guide. Why is that?
"For us, the mind and the heart are two essential faculties, but they can never give us a true understanding of life. To gain this true understanding, you have to develop a third faculty, intuition, which is both understanding and sensing.
But mind you don't confuse intuition with clairvoyance, which is a lower faculty than intuition. Why? Because clairvoyance does not go beyond the objective perception of the astral and mental planes. And so it is possible to see forms or entities from the astral and mental planes without understanding anything of what you are seeing. With intuition, on the other hand, you may see nothing, but you understand things as if you were seeing them a hundred times better, for you are experiencing them. "

"If I tell you that you must learn to walk on your own two feet, you will reply that you have always done so. No, I do not see you walking, but endlessly hopping either on one leg or the other. The sentimentalists hop on the left leg – they do not reflect – and the intellectuals hop on the right leg – their heart is closed and locked. So everyone is one-legged! You think you understand things, but you do not truly understand them. If you understood that you had two legs so that you could advance, you would use both of them. But you are always perched only on one, and even when you go out for a walk, you hop. You must therefore ask yourself the question: ‘Why has nature taught us to walk forward now on the left foot, now on the right foot?’ The answer is simple: it is because we must act sometimes with the heart and sometimes with the mind. We must know how to alternate in our conduct between the masculine and feminine principles, and sense at what moment we should change polarity. When you know how to walk using both legs, many obstacles will disappear before you."

Re: Contrary to what far too many people believe, the mind is not always a good guide. Why is that?
Bullshit. If the young girl used her mind she would find out everything about the boy instead of going with first appearances. She would send people to irritate him, to gauge his business sense, to threaten him etc etc to find out exactly how he behaves.

Btw OP you seem to love copying shit other people wrote. Have you ever had an original thought?
