Volcano thread for BC Canada Everybody reporting feeling movement all up and down the Coast.

Maybe on this site there's chatter but nothing on the news yet. Your election shit mostly. When the dust clears matbe we will hear about whats happening with this Volcano activity thats just been observed in that area.

I am on the sunshine coast. woke today at 3am to get myself and the kids ready for the 6am ferry to vancouver for appointments.
On the news they talked about the recently discovered bomb in Delta and the ones on the skytrain tracks. This normally would not stop me from going to the city but today it did. And something else...have no idea what, just a feeling.
This unease has been with me since 3am and still has not gone away, like waiting for something to drop.
Glad we stayed home today, rescheduled for next week.
Not feeling any movement, but something does not feel right in the air...

That was an aftershock from the 7.7 confirmed by Earthquakes Canada, means jack shit.

After earthquakes there are tons of AFTERSHOCKS.

Actually darling those Aftershocks are more Earthquakes. They have been all over. Kitimat/ Queen Charlottes are hundreds of miles away from each other. Its more than that.

I'm not your darling dipshit. Those earthquakes are all in the same area just look.

All related to the main shock. They will last for months. One main shock, two powerful aftershocks and a ton of smaller ones. Do you even understand how earthquakes work? All in the same bloody area!

Get out a map. Prince Rupert. Queen Charlottes and Kitimat are all on the same fault but hundreds of miles apart. Aftershocks are and stay in the same area. I read the paper too. For months they may go on. I also read they are quite concerned about a big one and that these swarms are often precursors for the main event.

this is what concerns me watch what happens when the earthquakes get to around 950 the thing is they look quite similar and yes im sure there gonna be ppl saying bump bump and that im a fear mongerer but there must be a reason ppl are feeling the same way on our coast

I live on the Sunshine Coast. In my lifetime I have felt several 6 point earthquakes here but nothing major. Cascadia is always a threat it always was and always will be. It will blow at some point. Tomorrow, today, five years from now or when we are all dead and buried. I barely felt the 7.7.

The earth is going to do what it wants to do. All anyone can do is prepare. But if you sit there and worry about it 27/4 you'll go batshit crazy.

Alaska went in the 1960s and that was frikken huge. If there are more larger earthquakes around this area I will become concerned.

I have felt nothing recently, no feelings no anything, EXCEPT the night of the 7.7. Was out to dinner and the table vibrated very slightly, I knew it was a bad earthquake.

its about being preppared and ready so if and when it does happen at least you ll have a head start i mean look how long its takin to help them in ny after that storm

we had a turquake here in the Ottawa , Onterrible / Buckingham Qc area. It woke me up around 4 am

The Sunshine Coast and where the 7.7's were are quite far apart. yes and then today 3 more 6.6's in Tofino and I bet she they felt them at dinner. Its been a long time coming and thats the problem. They have been many articles lately about how the stress is building up in the whole area. I think it will be soon now.

Still no word about the new Volcano on our Coast but I do know because of its remote location that they are looking into it. We shall see.

ya they say to prep a 3 day emerg kit but if we have learnt anything from the responce time of hurricane sandy better to be ready than unprepaired

Their talking about moving the KITS Coast Guard Station from its present location now. The head of the Coast Guard has made a formal request to have it relocated. Many different reasons cited. Yahoo news.

All I can say is that about a year ago I went on the Earthquakes Canada website and looked back at previously reported EQs in Canada and while there were some, they were few.

It is a totally different story now. There are twice the number of EQs listed already in 2012 than there were in 2009. Granted this includes Queen Charlottes aftershocks, but there are only 7 labeled as such.

Wrong. Central Alberta a week ago. 5.2. Few in the Peace River area. Lots in the Yukon lately. Look it up.

Two more Earthquakes in Tofino. Both 4.5. Steady as she goes.
