Your statement is a little off. They can pull you over and TEST using normal tests on the scene such as the alphabet backwards, walking on a line with your finger on your nose, but they will have to arrest you first before blood testing you... This is a known law and Initiative 502 doesn't override current laws...

Thanks Apollo Illuminist! I considered Denver before, but heard the rent was outrageous. I'll look into it again or maybe somewhere just outside the city. I lived in Boston for college, Los Angeles for work and Las Vegas most recently, so city doesn't bother me.

Any place along the front range. As was already said, Denver has a VA hospital. Fort Collins is a beautiful town that's about an hour north of Denver - great college there as well (CSU).

I would choose a tiny town of Brighton or Greeley to the North.

If you are still young and want to sight see I would choose Colorado Springs, google it and prepared to have your breath taken away.. Garden of the Gods, rock climbing, the cathedral at the Air force Academy, easy highway to all the ski areas, Just awesome.

If you already lived in LA, youll love Colorado Springs, Its like the Hollywood of Colorado in terms of excitement, fun things to do.

Oh yeah, forgot to add, If I ever moved to Colorado, I would choose Castle Rock, Its where Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth live.
