Rather than run electric to it we just went off grid. Composting toilet. Led Lights and a wood kitchen stove that heats the entire cabin. We also took a propane fridge and stove from an RV and that's what I use because I mainly go up in the summer. Hubby uses the wood stove during hunting season. The only pain is water. We have a hand pump well and fill a tank. The little stead has progressed to the point we could live indefinitely up there. I'd rather go solar or propane for the hot water and lights, but my hubby is a tinkerer and bought a gasifier. Too much maintenance as the wood has to be small but he's the one that stokes it. Otherwise very quaint and modern. No hermit here- college degree and good job (for now.) and a total weakness for hot shoes! Originally from Montana and fiercly independant, grow a garden/dehydrate and take the extras up to the cabin. Not just for shtf but ease of having food up there when we go. But in an emergency yeah we have a plan B, and it WILL be a fortress so I'm not afraid- I don't trust nor depend on the government! Libertarian. |

None of them showed up for work the day after the elections and when they did 2 days later I let all of them go and told them that Obama can now take care of them since they love him so much. You should have seen their faces it was funny. Even one of my supervisors was let go who just recently purchased a new house and car..Do I fell bad what I did hell no because I was getting tired of useless lazy people who was making my business lose money!!!!
