"The DRI for sodium is 2.3 grams per day, but on average people in the United States consume 3.4 grams per day, the minimum amount that promotes hypertension; this in turn causes 7.6 million premature deaths worldwide."

Quit sugar three days ago and lost another inch. Cardio and weights included, but still.

Probably the cardio and weights more than anything else.

What if I just cut out salt and sugar but didn't exercise?

I don't know? I have worked out most of my adult life and the cutting out salt showed results. Period. I have no reason to lie to you.

Cutting back on excess salt caused you to lose water weight, not fat cells.
There's no mystery there.

It's not real or permanent. You were just taking in too much salt.
But you cannot eliminate it and live.

I make my own salt out of sodium and chlorine.
It is pure as the driven snow.
Salty too.

Salt Substitute: VitaCost sells Kelp flakes, which also has iodine. Use just like salt. Tried it on homemade popcorn the other night and it was good! Mix it with garlic powder or flakes for your "garlic salt" taste.

Or, Mrs. Dash is made from a combination of herbs, and often used as a salt substitute. A.Vogel makes a similar product.
