Apparently there is concern of a coup or some other rogue military operation would be my guess. I have not heard if the same directive was given to any of the other branches like the air force, navy, etc.

Not necessarily. If the president called the commander of the 82nd airborne and gave him a direct order to mobilize, that would not be the normal chain of command.

I THINK what the author here intended to imply was that we have a boatload of retired, trustworthy, credible, loyal officers (and several leaving service, voluntarily and involuntarily) who still command enough respect and fidelity to create a real problem for a tyrannical government.

No, this means the political side of things can not make military orders. Basically, the US Military is taking steps to avoid corruption to take the white house.

There are MANY in high ranks who love this land and the people far more then their political leadership.

The only time afterburners have been used recently over the continental USA was during 9/11. If the planes were using their after burners it is highly unlikely they would have been seen even if they were flying low enough. I dont doubt you saw planes but it is highly unlikely after burners were used in formation at such a low altitiude.

Lets not forget Obamer is not a fan of the military and using after burners at low level over populated areas is not typical unless a state of emergency.

I was in Hermitage today and heard the jet. Sounded like just one. I thought it was a passenger plane coming in for a landing at BNA but the roaring just kept going. I saw nothing because of trees and was working and couldn't stop to run and look for them.

I'm not saying what OP said isn't true, I just heard what sounded like one and I've been around them many times in the past. Still, I could be wrong in the numbers..

BNA does have a Air National Guard Base. I will post info below.

This pass weekend I heard an unusual amount of roaring from planes either coming or going from BNA. I am in one of there flight paths but I've been here for 9+ years and this is not the norm. I will personal pin this thread and update it if I hear something weird..

as for one who has cut that airfield im telling you in 4 years i havent seen that amount of 15s ever on that base try again

the fact is trying to link them 15s to Ft Campbell its just funny ive worked at ceceil field NAS in the 80s and the sound is distinctive and youll never forget it when your close to one that takes off or breaks the sound barrier also lived in mississippi at the piviot point for a training base of the us navy and when they start a steep climb itll rattle the windows in your home
