Anyone else's kids a little brat?
I'm so fed up after working all day and all they want from me are presents ice cream toys and movies. All because their mom does it once in a while and says ask me. I'm nothing it's their world, their apartment and I'm just a wallet

And after you sacrifice all those years and give them all this, they will get to their teens and hate you and ditch you like trash.

You sound like a bit of a scrooge. If you are going to give them coal for Christmas, then maybe you could at least coat it in chocolate for them

Its rough.

Remember, they love you. They really do.
But I gotta tell you, they almost never are truly grateful for anything.
And yes, when they become teenagers it gets worse. Much worse.

I've never had problems with my three. Maybe we raised them properly though.

No tv
No sugar
No video games
No public school
No processed or fast food
They must earn their rewards
Mom is not allowed to work until they're in school full time
Constant guidance and teaching
Out doors all the time
Lots and lots of exercise
Lots of reading and writing
All organic diet
No tap water

You know...the basic common sense stuff. My kids are calm, mature, dependable, articulate, thoughtful, sincere, and tough as nails.

Re: Anyone else's kids a little brat?
i will second the above opinion. feed junk food, give junk socialization, get junk kids.

however, it is hard because you need to get off the junk stuff BEFORE preg--and be a good example your whole life.

still and all--even in the best of circumstances your kids are not you, will make choices you wouldn't make and will go off and live their own lives and take you for granted! part of the job...

True. Then we grow out of it (hopefully) sometime in our early twenties and realize that we had it good.

Something else to keep in mind.. I stay at home with my two boys. My husband works. When he comes home they're all over him. Not because I'm telling them to ask him for something, but because they haven't seen him all day and are happy to see him. They associate him with a different fun than what Mom provides. I think your children do love you, its just hard to be bombarded at the end of the day when you've come home exhausted.

My son is well adjusted , he has always been encouraged to eat proper food , he has a tub full of sweets/treats etc and hardly ever touches it.....he spends his time writing stories and drawing , with his iPad beside him playing music....he doesnt like computer games or excessive TV , he is 9 and I'm a single mother......I'm proud of him and his achievements!

They are just children. this is what they think about. Be an adult and except it. They are not little adults. You don't deserve their innocence.

Re: Anyone else's kids a little brat?
The second I realized as a parent I am not free to discipline my kids via spanking or humiliation, I opted out.

There isn't a day that goes by I'm not greatful that my parents beat my ass, and made me look like an ass when I fucked up. I needed it to be the man I am today.

So yah do the world a favor, if you suck as a parent or simply can't/don't want to deal with kids in this rediculously PC era. Then don't have them.
