I imagine that people working for companies which specialize in chemo"therapy" are reaching for their adult diapers.

Doesn't suprise me at all. I have thought this for years. I have never understood the animosity towards "alternative" medical care.

Yes, I understand you didn't learn this in medical school. Who cares? Most doctors can tell you what are the mainstream treatments for "conditions" but without looking at a PDR they cannot tell you the mechansism of action or what other organs or systems they can potentionally harm. They just take it as it is accepted and that's it.

Worse yet, they fully believe the pharm reps to educate them on the newest drugs. Scary.

Let's look at what cancer is. Uncontrolled cell growth. They are normal cells gone wild. That's how they can tell from testing cells where the cancer originated from. Renal, Lung, Bone, etc...

So the Chemo just kills ALL new cell growth through radiation. Damaging ALL cells in the body. That leads to reason that if you can survive the chemo that your future cells have been potentially damaged to become cancerous.

The 5 year survival rate is a joke. Ok, so pancreatic cells usually regenerate after a year but then bone cells usually take between 25 and 30 years. So it would be really easy to say, yes, we cured your cancer. This "new' cancer is just that a "new" cancer. Or, you know your prone to cancer.

Instead of admiting that the accepted treatment is riddled with more known cancer causing agent. Chemo, radiation, CT scans just to name a few.

Remember a lot of people are concerned in another arena about the airport scans and cancer. Use your brain, just because they are wearing a white jacket with the guise of helping you, you still need to use your brain.

Look into vitamin D. Vitamin D is a potent cancer fighter. Ever wonder why we get it from the sun which is totally different than getting mineral and vitamins from food? I know this person that had stage 4 cancer and was taking 10,000 IU of vitamin D (vs federal guideline of only 600 IU a day) and she beat it. Her doctors were apparently amazed how healthy she was when they did exploratory surgery to look for remaining tumors after chemotherapy...

Back in the days with no modern day chemo or anything, cancer was pretty much a death sentence. Just talk to your old family members or anyone else who saw those times when surgery was basically all that could be done. While the number of new cases has increased, it is a statistical fact that death rates from cancer have gone down, survival rates up. Oh yeah, but GLP doesn't believe in any statistics unless they're published by that one raging moron or some other not-so-official source...

No offense, OP, but:

People are being treated for cancers that are not a death sentence; that's why it appears that 'survival rates' have gone up. But keep believing and buying big Pharma's lies, if that's what keeps your glasses rosy. I'd rather look at the world through clear lenses.

Learn the difference between cancer and a tumor.

Cured is considered 5 years cancer free. If you die 1 day after that, you are still counted as cured. LOL What a fucking joke, just to keep their multibillion dollar torture machine going. If cancer was cured tomorrow and everyone knew about it, the medical industrial complex would go belly up within days.

You usually can't see cancer. Inflammatory breast cancer has very visible symptoms such as redness, inflammation, skin changes. Chemo reduced those symptoms significantly before a mastectomy was preformed.

The entire concept of profiting from the sick and dying has no place in a civilized culture.

Tumors are treated the same way as if you had cancer, they want to cut it out immediately. Colon polyps are their favorite surgery around here in my area. They almost always come back in a year or 2. The patient is told that if they don't cut that thing out right now it will turn into cancer within a year. I'm glad the docs are psychics, too.

There are 3 cancer treatments available in the U.S., cut it out, chemo it out or radiate it out or all 3. Nutrition is illegal here for treatment of cancer. That's why you have to go to Mexico to check into the Gerson Clinic.

Nutrition is not considered as part of cancer treatment here. People with cancer are fed the worst crap imaginable in hospitals when they are sick.

Why bother with chemo if they're going to cut off your tit anyway? More money?

Its that mentality that cause people to rush to man-made treatments like chemo, surgical removal,etc. The body is better equipt and wiser when it comes to removing cancer, If we get out of the way. Fasting,B17(found in seeds),diet,exercise,vitamin D,etc.

So what you would like was that the doctors told their patients with cancer (or any other leathal disease) that "oh yeah, we do have chemo and other treatments which could give you a year or maybe two but we feel it's disgusting to make any profit so we're not giving you anything at all. Feel free to eat a bunch of carrots and hope that you have a miracle and survive for just one more month"?

If you're 18 (even younger in some countries) then no-one's forcing you to get any treatment for anything at all if you don't trust chemo etc. and don't want pharmaceutical companies to make any profit from you.

I'm not saying the current cancer treatments are perfect and yes they do have ill effects. We need more research and hopefully one day we understand cancer perfectly and the survival rates would rise to at least 80%. However, even the current treatments give you hope even with the worst types of cancer, something you really didn't have back in the 19th and earlier or early 20th century.

Its a real shame what some wouldn't do for a few extra bucks.

I know how tumors are treated and I don't agree with the docs who want to use chemo etc. for all tumors imaginable. Anyways, I was talking about CANCER and its treatments and pointing out that there is a significant difference between a tumor and cancer.

My grandfather was diagnosed with liver and lung cancer. They gave him 6 months at the most and that was with radiation and chemo. He made the decision to forgo both because he didn't want to spend his last months weak and sick from the treatments. He ended up living four more years. Very good years at that. The only thing he did was go to the local pharmacy for a weekly vitamin b shot. I don't know if the vitamin shot really did anything to help or if it was a placebo effect. He thought it helped and that is all that matters. His doctors were floored he was doing so well with no treatment. I fully believe if he had done the treatments he would have only lasted the 6 months they originally gave him.

Amen to this. The more I'm around doctors, the more I realize that they don't know their ass from their elbow. The amazing thing is that (in most cases) they sincerely believe that they have a clue. Why are humans so easily brainwashed?

As a cancer survivor, more than fifteen years ago, I never even let them talk about chemotherapy. I walked out and reworked my diet and exercise, included meditation everyday and so far so good. IMHO cancer doctors are a bunch of greedy, ignorant bastards as well as the drug companies behind them.
