Just find a virgin from a healthy family. I am serious. Its not that far fetched. Don't look in night clubs. Don't waste your time with used up women. They have little but contempt to offer and will constantly project their past negative experiences on every man they are with.

There are a lot of communities that still practice chastity before marriage, its an old and very effective tradition of building a strong family.

I thought the traditional way was pretty safe for a woman, the little lady stays home and keeps the house and soccer-moms the kids, while the big strong man goes out and brings in the paycheck.

Well now to get a job it helps to be a woman, so that model is gone by the boards.

But anyway, I thought women in the 60's and 70's were quite safe. As for emotional support, I think that would vary a great deal depending on the particular relationship.

I don't understand women who would have steady sex with more than one man. Usually, sex or other things causes a hormonal attachment in the woman, so that women tend to be monogamous more than men. I know that some women have multiple partners, even sleep around on a longterm basis, but I thought the women who sleep around were typically unhappy about it.

I am not saying you "sleep around", just that you have more than one partner with less commitment than women usually want.

Also, do those men sleep with other women? Do you mind that?

My fiancee and I just broke up.
We were close to being married. Together for 5 and half years. I treated her well, always opened doors for her and carried her things for her. I would massage her hands and feet for her every night before going to bed and every morning before going to work. I loved putting a smile on her face.THe sex was really good too(does anybody ever actually believe anybody when they say that though :P) We always hear stories of people cheating on each other and always affirmed eachother we would never cheat. We were getting our finances in order and planning the wedding, a house and a future family.

Well some old boyfriend from 9 years ago strolls into town and she got confused and ended up sleeping with him. I forgave her and told her we can get through this and move forward from here but she kept talking to him behind my back. She said she can't stop talking to him and can't promise she won't hurt me again so we have gone our seperate ways.

Well now it's back to the drawing board. I'm going to use this oppotunity take care of some debt and get back into shape. Being in a relationship tends makes us a little lazy in the health department. Go and hang with some male friends at CONS (gencon, comiccon, vegas) and such. Stuff I couldn't do before because i was devoting all my time to my fiancee.

Being single can be a good thing. don't waste it. Use all the extra time you have to better yourself. There are lots of good women out there and you'll find one someday. I've already starting talking to one that I have way more in common with then I did with my ex and enjoy talking with her.

This sounds sort of like my story. I had a gf for several years, then I went away to grad school and our relationship got a bit more distant but we were still "together", but then she started talking about some other guy ...

Well at the start of my 3rd year of grad school I met my future wife on campus and since she was drifting away from me anyway, I didn't think she'd really mind the breakup phone call.

Turns out she did and suddenly in that phone call (but not in all the time -- years -- that I had tried before, she was more "flexible" about some basic things. Well now it was too late, and I went through with the breakup.

It's a good think I didn't marry her, my wife is much better. So one door closes, another opens. You're getting older, which is fine for a man. Not for a woman. If she wanted to come back to you now, how would she stack up to the competition? Maybe not so well?
