This has already been going on for many years. This is a formality I think, and that's about all. NSA is already splicing up the internet and feeding large streams of data to their infrastructure to be monitored, the issue is not getting the data in the first place it's been how to deal with and sift thru the copious amounts that they DO have already -- they literally have spliced the fiber connections on the east and west coast and routed a copy of that data to their HQ. Google it.

Makes you wonder if it would now be "illegal" to encrypt your email? You know since they have right to read it as well.

Something like GPG perhaps? That's not a bad idea actually. It may not be impossible to crack but at least you won't be flagged by robot 'phrase scanners', etc...

At what point did I endorse Romney as the solution? When the American populace keeps on electing these clowns, be they Presidents, Senators, or Congressmen, they must necessarily experience the consequences of their (in)actions.

There is a solution for this if you use e-mail clients like thunderbird, Outlook, Outlook express, and Windows Live Mail. This will not work with webmail only with e-mail clients.

Get a free digital signature so you can encrypt your e-mail. Note, only the body and attachments are encrypted not the subject line.

Using your digital certificate will make it very difficult for third parties to snoop into your business. Again, if you use the web for your e-mail, a digital certificate will not help you secure your e-mail.

Originally all of these invasions of our privacy were supposedly to keep us safe from the bad guys.It`s gone way past that now,this is blatant govt. intrusion done so that they can keep tabs on us,the people.We haven`t been under attack at all domestically yet they still keep ramping it up.
