Yup. That's the amount that is needed to get into optimal range of vitamin D level. You'd be surprise how common vitamin D deficiency is. Badly outdated current recommendation is only 600 IU a day. The conventional treatment for vitamin D deficiency is one 50,000 IU pill a week for 2-3 months (over 7000IU a day) but due to crappy outdated guideline, patients are often not tested for it. |
