The tricky thing is this: I was reading on a site about how the electron microscope was invented 9 years before the parking meter. Einstein, all these quantum mechanics guys, were working in the 1920s and 30s, while most folks were learning how to work on their old model Ts. So think of that bifurcation between the scientific elite and the normal populous even back then... Then add to it the fact that science as a totally public endeavor really died July 16, 1945 in NM. (Trinity) And since then every scientific advance is weighed in terms of how secret it needs to be to protect interests like national security and so forth. The conclusion you have to come to is that whatever fantastic technology you see in the sky could very well be man made.

it so happens that they wanted to go on vacation, so they drove from Pennsylvania to southern Florida and by some strange occurrence, never had to stop at a gas station.

they were stupefied so they drove all the way back, and still... NEVER a stop at a gas station.

incredibly curious they promptly took the truck back to the dealer and informed them of there odd situation, the dealer responded by replacing there truck with a normal one and saying that the truck they were given was a mistake and to forget about what had happened.
