Who else has quit TV because they cannot take all of the irritating flashing any more?

nah...I quit watching telly cause I had had enough of my irritating husband changing the channel every five seconds- he has the attention span of a flippen peanut when it comes to the telly...cant be bothered anymore. Internet is much more interesting anyway...

I can't figure it out. The flashing adds nothing to the show and it is simply a big irritation. What is its purpose and why doesn't everybody with a brain complain and ask them to knock it off?

you have answered your own question. there are none with a brain to complain.

I quit tv long ago , so in memoriam to shows of good nature i own all the good tv shows that promote what is right against what is wrong, lost in space is in my bullseye.

I quit television because I couldn't take the constant leftist propaganda on damn near every show .

you don't realize how bad it is while watching. but go outside at night and watch the flashing of a tv in a dark room through a window

I own 3 big screens and I rarely watch them. I watch nature shows, some documentaries, and hockey. Well hockey is in a labor dispute so that cuts my viewing way down.

There is a lot of flashes of bright lights and colors but that is not what keeps me away.

I see the bullshit in it. I watch about 10 seconds of local news, or CNN, CBC and I can't watch it because I can see the propaganda in it.

Same with the newspaper. I canceled my subscription because the thing was nothing more than bird cage liner.

I've noticed this as well, it's really irritating. I wonder if anyone has recorded the flashing and played it back in slow motion to see what may be in the flashes.

I've also noticed, it's not just a flashing but sometimes it's like the screen shrinks and flashes at the same time-make sense??

From what I've noticed it happens quite often on the SyFy channel-FWIW.

Sometimes I close my eyes and can still sense the flashing.
I'm not sure WHY they do this. It must hypnotize in some way, thats my guess. Maybe to enduce epilipic seizures?? I really don't know.

I just saw a commercial for some futuristic movie and it was flash, flash flash every few seconds.

I agree! I can't stand the flashing any more. I am going to end it all. I am going to unplug my TV!

I'm going on six years myself, and I've never been happier. TV is a waste of time and brain cells.

I use my TV to watch old movies I have on DVD or a few movie channels now and then

I turn it off when I'm not watching it

I had a Semiotics professor years ago who put the fear of god in me regarding how television was being used to shape thinking patterns....and that was in the early 1980s

I can only imagine how bad it has gotten now

Turn on your TV at night and go stand outside and just stand off to the side and watch the lightening coming off your TV. Thats what its like. Lightening. Its bad. I haven't had cable or sat for three years now because I couln't take it anymore plus the programming sucks. I rent the odd movie now and use my computor. haven't missed it even a little and no more bill from it. It sucks.

The flashing that your TV does has to be bad for you. Try going outside and watching from a distance. You'd think the storm was in your house.
