Re: CME Gold Depository Declares Force Majeure!
Maybe someone with access to MTB's vaults stole gold bars out of it during the confusion in and after the storm.

No I'm not joking. A lot of stuff hasn't been found, lights are on because things have been rebuilt and repaired, etc.

And who the fuck are you, have you ever been in a storm like that? Idiot, that's what you are.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28008747

You dumb naive sheep. I have been in a hurricane, a tornado in my back yard and an earthquake. A few tons of GOlD does not float away. It is not carried away unless its STOLEN. There is no confusion about its whereabouts when someone MOVES it. Are you that simple? This paper to gold heist has been going on for YEARS with excuses like yours.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14553694

Hm, it seems I had just said it could be a heist.

Then you conclude that it was a heist, but some sort of fiat-currency "paper to gold heist" that has nothing to do with this story.

This wasn't just a hurricane. An ordinary Cat. 1 hurricane is nothing like this. Remember the Jersey shore? Significant parts of it are gone now.

Back in my days CME was the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
This would only apply to options then?

The Banksters own the CME.

"NYMEX and COMEX are now a part of CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives marketplace. Our Metals futures markets include full-size contracts on gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper and steel; and smaller size contracts for gold (miNY 50 oz.), (E-micro 10 oz.), silver (miNY 2,500 oz.) and copper (E-mini 12,500 lbs.). With an average daily volume of more than 400,000 futures and options contracts traded, our Metals markets are the most liquid in the world for these products. Additionally, we offer clearing services of OTC London Gold spot and forwards and Iron Ore Swap futures through CME ClearPort."

"Yes sir, there's no problem. You can still get delivery, it will just be from Brinks and it will be sometime in February."

If you can't deliver when the contract says you must, you don't have the physical metal, simple as that. This is a stall tactic, to give the exchange time to source the metal for delivery (due to overwhelming demand, they don't have it right now). The much bigger force majeure is coming. This is just the first straw in the wind.

Some farmer is going to be out plowing his field in March or April and going to get a nice surprise. LMAO.

Seriously? I didn't hear about any secret vaults getting blown over by Sandy. Nor any secret vaults getting flooded and submerged to the point that deep sea divers couldn't get to it.

I distinctly remember reading about a transformer explosion in NYC that just happened to be on top of a place where gold was stored. Bernake even commented on it.

Couple of weeks ago I looked for info on transformer explosions (to post a thread on this 'coincidence' and most of the material I was searching for specifically was missing.

I think somebody somewhere considers this a verboten topic.

SO they would have us believe that they knew for a fact that sandy was inbound a week before it happened. Then they left the vault doors open and said..."Lets just see what happens?"

REALLY? Really?

This is the story they go with? The one where the gold and palladium...both very heavy metals just got swept away from a vault that is most likely air tight?

Really? They must think everyone is a moron!

Sorry to take the air out of your thread by quoting the next 2 paragraphs from the story:

CME said that individuals holding MTB warrants, or certificates for a specific lot of metal stored in the depository, may receive gold delivered from Brinks Co. (BCO) in New York. MTB is responsible for any additional costs incurred by customers receiving metal from Brinks, CME said.

"This shouldn't have a material impact on the way market participants are doing business," a CME spokesman said. "They'll still contact MTB if they want to take delivery on contracts," and MTB will arrange for delivery through Brinks.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28008747

it will impact because brinks delivery increases the cost of delivery quite a bit.

and the LBMA said they are no longer going to report silver interest rates and silver forward rates. the silver market is becoming more opaque making it harder for investors and silver users to understand whats actually happening. the silver ponzi scheme probably in deep doo doo. got any spare cash laying around might be a good idea to grab some physical on the next dip.

Re: CME Gold Depository Declares Force Majeure!
The Gold War is on, having moved to a higher gear, but nowhere near a climax gear. The true value of gold is being realized. The strength of gold during insolvency crisis is being observed. The resistance and rescue from the plague of insolvency is being made clear on a global stage. The new important part of the Gold War comes with the Allocated Gold Account scandal which will dwarf the LIBOR and MFGlobal scandals. The demands for repatriated gold accounts, primarily from the criminal bank sectors in London and New York, have amplified. Germany has finally joined with demands for gold repatriation. The demands will continue to grow even as tampered gold bars add to the motivation to repatriate. If only Chavez of Venezuela knew that he was to start a global trend to call gold home, in a Gran Aletazo de Mariposas. The grand butterfly flapping has caused a whirlwind that will turn into a tornado to wreck the central banks in a final death blow.

It appears that all posters on this topic are in agreement -- there is dirty work afoot here - BIG TIME!

So what do we do about it? If we get the lawyers involved, it will take years and the money will disappear for sure.

Any suggestions (please, nothing that will get Trinity in trouble or involve Home Land Security)?

Hurricane Sandy blew away 29,276 troy ounces of gold and 33,000 troy ounces of palladium!!!

"CME Group Inc. (CME) on Monday said that Manfra, Tordella and Brookes Inc., one of the exchange's gold depositories, will not be able to delivery metal as the lower Manhattan company deals with "operational limitations" almost a month after the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

MTB, one of five depositories licensed to deliver gold against CME's benchmark 100-troy ounce gold contract, held 29,276 troy ounces of gold and 33,000 troy ounces of palladium as of Nov. 23, according to data from CME subsidiary Comex.

In a notice to customers on Monday, CME declared force majeure, a contract clause that frees parties from liability due to an event outside of their control, for the facility."

BTW....Everyone keep this in mind.....this can also be done through the clearing houses which hold your stocks, IRA, and other financials....along with other neat tricks....just read the fine print when you execute a stock trade.

When executing a trade, you agree to allow a holding exchange to have power of attorney over your assets until you request the physical stock certificates. They own your stocks FIRST and you do SECONDLY. Physical possession is 9 tenths the law.

If SHTF, you are S.O.L. PERIOD...just look at Bear Stearns, Worldcom, or Enron. This also happened in 1933 when a banking holiday was declared and all bank, private, & public assets were frozen and later reduced in value. Even the bank Presidents took the opportunity at the time to loot assets from people's safety deposit boxes. (ALL safety deposit boxes are used at your own risk and are uninsured.)

Read the fine print and make sure you don't have critical assets locked up when an "emergency", Presidential Order, disaster (either financial or natural), Martial Law, or banking holiday is delcared.
