Yes. I'm an employer. I will adjust my labor costs to offset my tax increases. Many that I know are planning to do the same. All of my employees were required to sign a noncompete agreement right after the election to keep their positions. Not all will be able to stay on, I fear.

people that are making that much money can afford paying the increased tax rate without laying people off. I think this is a wonderful idea. The trickle down theory is complete bullshit and total propaganda.

We will never pay off the debt; so it does not matter one way or the other -- except that the rich have way too much power in this country. They need to be knocked off their pedestal ASAP.

Non-compete agreements do not work. They are illegal. Not only that, you told them they needed to sign the paper to keep their job. This was not a requirement when you hired them. There is no gain for them agreeing to sign the non-compete and therefore the contract is null and void, legally.

You can not prevent someone from doing business in their trained profession. This is a Supreme Court decision.

You as an employer are an a$$hole. You can not prevent competition by attempting to prevent your employees from doing what they are trained to do. Good luck with that.

OK, let's assume you work with artists. If you had them sign a contract saying they could not be artists if they don't work for you -- it is completely non-binding for several reasons. It would be like asking a software engineer that works in finance or security to sign a paper that says they can not work in finance or security for two years after leaving a position with your firm. This has already been decided in the supreme court and it is not legally binding.

The new taxes include capital gains on home sales previously exempt. Not just capital gains either but even if the home is sold for a loss the sales proceeds are now taxable as income.
