Mississippi county jails children for dress code violation | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1121064 Australia 11/27/2012 04:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Meridian, Miss., it is school officials – not police – who determine who should be arrested. Schools seeking to discipline students call the police, and police policy is to arrest all children referred to the agency, according to a Department of Justice lawsuit. The result is a perverse system that funnels children as young as ten who merely misbehave in class into juvenile detention centers without basic constitutional procedures. Quoting: betterlivings [link to www.nationofchange.org] Thats why most people around the world don't want to visit usa... you could fart and be jailed for 10 years with all the jails being private. So why bother being setup up for some BS law... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27571238 United States 11/28/2012 12:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well...taking this course of action helps to raise money for the justice system, via fines to the parents, and the taxes required to pay for the custody of the juveniles, etc., and helps to keep certain jobs filled in the city, county, and state sytesms, as well as it primes the population for prisoners for the private prisons down the road, when these kids with 'records' become adults. Why just spank a kid, when you can do all that? It's a racket. So many, many, many laws, and no justice = lawlessness. |

But that's the point--you can't "just spank a kid" or you risk a lawsuit. Teachers are not allowed to discipline kids and some of these kids run amok and are totally disruptive. And their parents don't care or make their kids behave either so what are they supposed to do? Let them have their way? No win situation. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. True, but, I suspect that it's been created to be a "no win situation" so that Big Brother can be the only one able to step in and take control of the situation. This sort of thing is not just happening in Mississippi, and that's what's telling. |

~JustMe~ User ID: 18606339 United States 11/28/2012 06:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | (CNN) -- Officials in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, have operated "a school-to-prison pipeline" that violates the constitutional rights of juveniles by incarcerating them for alleged school disciplinary infractions, some as minor as defiance, the U.S. Department of Justice said Friday. "Students most affected by this system are African-American children and children with disabilities," the Justice Department said. [link to www.cnn.com] |

That is why my children are HOMESCHOOLED. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26960591 I'd be homeschooling my kids if they were school-age now. The schools in the US are out of control. BTW, my kids all dropped out of high school in their sophomore year, took the GED, and went to the local community college. They then went on to university, and graduate degrees. If I'd homeschooled them, they probably could have gone to college at 12 or thirteen.
