People claim NASA is covering it up. Usually conspiracy theorists say, "follow the money." Well what does NASA profit from covering up any of those theories? Nothing. What do the people who are peddling these insane theories get? Just type 2012 into your netflix search bar. Look up all the books that have been written on this supposed event. It's a huge business, built on fooling people through pseudo-scientific claims and claiming any evidence to the contrary is a cover up, while they have no evidence of their own. The "dark side" of these doomsday theories is that dumb, impressionalbe people might believe them and commit suicide out of fear of the end of the world. Young kids and teenagers are particularly at risk. There is also the risk of groups of people over-reacting and "jumping the gun" and going live with their doomsday plans when there is no doomsday. When it is not the apocalypse it is called either grand theft or looting. |
