Houston couple arrested for making snuff films of animals being tortured and killed

So animals have a right to live. Okay, now go picket outside of every restaurant and grocery store in the country to prove that. Most "animal rights" types are liberals who support abortion, so you probably don't even think humans have a right to live.

Humans have a right to live because we can decree it, animals can't, so it's up to mankind to act as custodian of the earth. However, stomping kittens isn't a criminal act, it's a sick act, about as sick as playing "Call of Duty" or other violent and depraved video games.

Farmers harvest their steers for meat for commerce, while these sickos stomped cats for commerce. And I know that many of you think that animals are the moral equivalent of humans, but there's simply no reason that any legal jurisdiction in the country should move against such commerce as this. I myself find it abhorrent, but the law isn't there to ensure a lack of abhorrence in life, the law is there to ensure that civil order is maintained.

No one is saying you can't kill animals. It's sanctioned by every state through farming/ranching, processing, and hunting/fishing. It's the torture that is not allowed, and every jurisdiction in the U.S. has found a compelling reason to protect animals from torture. These people and those that buy their videos should die.

Again, as to intent, you say their intent was torture, while I say their intent was commerce. And then you say that they should be executed? Why? That would be cruel and unusual punishment, since animals possess no inalienable rights.

Stomping a kitten or slicing a cow's neck at the slaughterhouse, both end the life of the animal, so both are identical from a moral perspective, since no humans are harmed as a result. And where both activities are for the purpose of commerce, such activities should be lawful.

People who abuse animals are absolutely vile and sick as far as I'm concerned, but there's simply no overwhelming reason for any state entity to interfere in such commerce, particularly when no humans are harmed as a result.

I agree that people that buy these should be shot. Just like pedophiles who like kiddie porn, these people are sick and should not be among us in civil society.
