Cell divison is not "binary", its one cell splitting in two, and brain cells don't reproduce anyway, neuther do nerves, why there are wheelchairs, spines don't heal.

I think as we develop understanding of ourselves we recognize the parallels to what we seek to create artificially - it turns out in this case what we sought to develop was already established processes within ourselves.

I don't know about apollo but I had a series of posts on transhumanism in that timeframe.

I think transhumanism sort of ironic now - people afraid of becoming what they already are - binary based computing devices.

We need not take new form, we need to better understand ourselves.
