I cannot stand going to work every day - anyone have any out of the box ideas?
It is destroying me mentally and physically, I work night shift and I can't see anyone, I feel like a complete drone and a lot of nights I leave work angry, frustrated, and worn out.

I am so tired of doing this, I did it all though school, being made fun of and picked on for being smarter than others and not doing things the same as everyone else.

Do any smart individuals here have any ideas on making a living (does NOT have to be a lot) through my own means? I am knowledgeable on the computer, but I just need some ideas on something that I can do to generate income of some sort, maybe even slowly build to something better or larger later.

Thank you :D May God bless you and have a wonderful day.

Take what you're good at and make a trade out of it rather than a job.

That's what I've done. I set the hours, I set how much work I'll accept and what it is. It's still a pain in the arse to get started in the morning and most of my work still looks like drudgery, but meh...you can't change the fact entirely that play is more fun.

Well 8 hours with unemployment means that you need to have a free based own job with sometimes a little bit early or late ...

And you have to make others into a sad lame idea while demolishing everything

I would love to know too. I worked hard for 20 years and have nothing to show for it. Now I am unemployed and my body is wore slap the fuck out. I can't run 30 ft without having to lie down. My back hurts all the time, my knees hurt, I have no stamina either.

I have tons of skills, but no one believes me nor are they willing to give me a chance to show them.

I need a job that uses my brain and not my body. But finding one is proving impossible. Starting to feel like I ruined my life by working as a landscaper for 20 years.

I could go back to landscaping, but am not physically fit for the job. I have no ideas how I am going to pay my bills or survive. I am so screwed.

Open up your own business.

I am sick of the dishonest workplaces. The worker can no longer trust what goes on behind their backs.

Many are willing to lie to pacify a compliance>>this is all I will say...

but the peon worker often gets caught in the middle. This is my story. I am tired of working for dishonest places where you always have to keep a CYA file to keep one self SAFE.

It is all BS

I am opening up a house cleaning business.

The start up costs are not too expensive; as other things...

There seem to be a few issues here you should define a bit clearer before making a move. What do you mean by comparing now to when you were in school? Are you being harassed at work? What is physically and emotionally draining?

You can run and hide, but if you have issues that need to be addressed, it does not matter where you go, these issues will follow.

If you are smart, you probably have the answers within and will come up with better solutions than a bunch of internet strangers.

When you work for someone else, you make them wealthy. Work for yourself doing something you love. Cut your expenses to the bone. Read "Your money or your life" and "Rich Dad ,Poor Dad ". Good luck.

Have you considered joining some sort of off-grid 'eco village' or intentional community? These can provide you with a simple home, or place to sleep, in exchange for your skills/labour.

I know what you are going through. I had the same happen to me about 20 years ago. Lost my hearing in one hemisphere had a brain hemorrhage, sever kidney probs, and lower back probs and ended up on the shit heap in a foreign country with 10 dollars US to my name not being able to speak the language and living off gleaning what I could out of local fields and the like. Thought of putting a noose around my neck on more than one occasion, but decided that I couldn't commit the big "S", even if my life depended on it. But 20 years on, wow, how things have changed. But I had to bite the bullet and prostitute myself doing the most menial heavy jobs for next to nothing until I was able to work for myself in real estate market in buying up wrecks, learning to do them up and then sell them on. It worked, but was hard and difficult, very difficult.

Re: I cannot stand going to work every day - anyone have any out of the box ideas?
I hated school, from elementary to college.

They have this wonder drug thats been around for like 80 years called dextroamphetamine (talk to your doctor), and I take it everyday. I have severe hyperactivity (ADHD), and this drug changed my life completely. Its a wonderful anti-depressant too, and the side-effects for me are minimal to nil. I take it as prescribed and never abuse the stuff because I don't want it to stop working. I have also taken it for years without developing a tolerance. It does suck when you stop taking it, but after two weeks at the most I'm back where I started.

If you really feel this way you should talk to to a doctor or a shrink.

the feminist movement knew what they were doing.

Luckily I found a man who knows how to be a man and allows me to stay home, I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it truly is. I worked outside the home for many years and while I made a ton of money and had 'independence', I was still a slave to the clock and usually unhappy. Now I do what I want when I want. My main job is to take care of my man's every need. I'd rather be my husband's slave than a slave to uncle sam. And he can do whatever he wants, we have a great understanding. I've never been happier. And I work out 2 hours a day, take jacuzzi soaks, travel with him whenever he has business and shop/lunch with my gf's. I see the world much differently now that I don't work. Its a good life if you can get one like this.

Next spring he is buying me a horse. I absolutely cannot wait. Life is good. I am living the life I've always dreamed.

It is sad that these days a person can't get a job without having the education and experience to prove they can do it. Back in the day a person was given a chance to prove themselves because the person hiring them could judge them on their enthusiasm, and promise to work hard and show them they won't be sorry for giving them the opportunity. I wish it was like the old days. You know, when handshakes sealed deals and meant something.

keep after your dreams. I also write, but lately have become more into painting and photography. My husband loves that I am never bitchy anymore and more relaxed/easy going. Corporate work world sucked the life out of me when I worked. Now when I am tired its because he and I were out doing something fun or shagging like newlyweds. I have my fair share of tasks I need to complete to keep the home and his schedule running smoothly, but all in all, I feel freedom like never before. Many of my friends are jealous that I don't have to work, but we made a lot of sacrifices early on in our relationship, so now we are reaping the benefits of seeing our long-term plan actually come into existence. Its a visualization thing as well, you have to envision yourself living the life that you dream.

Most women just want security. Easiest thing for a man to give a woman is protection and security. A woman will pretty much do anything for a man that gives her these basics. Love is an action word. There was a time when I questioned what love really was, now I fully understand.

Men protect and secure the things (people) that they love.

Simple, really. If he is not willing to protect and secure you, he doesn't love you.

I see the world much differently now that I don't work. Its a good life if you can get one like this.

Next spring he is buying me a horse. I absolutely cannot wait. Life is good. I am living the life I've always dreamed.

Yes.

I see EXACTLY what you are saying.

I am WORKING on my husband. He was originally brought up with this mind set influenced by the f-up feminist movement

(thanks in part to his narcissistic mommy but too much to go into here....)

I didn't have the luck to find a man FULLY in tune but

I am working my husband...he is slowly coming around....

I have worked in many different careers but they are all the same

f****ed up

One can't trust most businesses today

but I trust my hubbytounge

I would not just sit around all day...no

I am a writer and this is what I will practice

keep after your dreams.

Have loads of fun!!!hf

Re: I cannot stand going to work every day - anyone have any out of the box ideas?
I haven't worked in years... Just dont do it. Life goes on believe it or not.. This notion that if you dont have a job your life is some how over is complete bullshit. When you dont work, thats when your life has truly started.

This is why so many retirees look at the world a lot differently than when they were working. You see the world in a different light.

... and at this point the dollar is dead, wages are so low its hardly worth it, and there is communities off the grid popping up from east to west.

Build a time machine, go back to grade school, and don't be a failure for your whole life again.

This is the best goal.

But it is becoming more difficult to find those types of men...

the feminist movement knew what they were doing.

That is wonderful. I intend to support my wife/partner 100% when the time comes, and I have found that with this attitude women and girls more or less line up to spend time with me. Although the vast majority are really screwed up and more or less straight up tell me they just want to use me to 'get ahead'. I also have found very few woman who truly wanted to please me full time, I'm sure the right woman is out there, I just have the good sense to wait for her.

Re: I cannot stand going to work every day - anyone have any out of the box ideas?
For some of you, it is your anger that is taking the physical and mental toll on you.

Sometimes it is not what you are doing to make a living but your attitude about it that is making you unhappy. While you are one of the lucky ones earning a living you could use other time out of the day to prepare for what you would like to do. Sometimes absent in this is a clear definition of what that would be.

Whatever you believe your superior skills are, use them to delve into how to make them marketable and begin to assoicate with people who share them to your advantage. Quit the complaints and take a step in one or more directions doing what it is that , again, you feel you are so smart about or superior in your skills.
