Hi there,

for example since almost 3 years I've noticed that all the planets in the sky are lot more bright than in the past.

If you take a look at Stellarium, you will find the well know planets such as Jupiter, Venus, Mars very huge in proporions, if you take a look at Jupiter with normal view (without zooming it) its about half the moon.

I think so. Get enough people using it as the "standard" and then put whatever you want, or take out whatever you don't want. Like GooEarth, you only see what you are allowed to see.

Like someone else said, go outside and use a telescope. That's a little more difficult to manipulate.

Thank you for providing evidence to your assertions. I agree that the scale is way off. The Pleiades are quite faint to the naked eye (though visible...I used to spot them decades ago at age 9 without a telescope), and of course the size of Jupiter along with it's most visible moons can be seen here versus Luna, our moon.

It's not uncommon for scaling errors to be made to point out a heavenly body, it's improper to do so within an astronometric program to assist amateurs. Still, it's free, and helpful. I doubt that the author has an agenda.

Nightshade is a newer program that is free and open source and is supposed to be quite a bit more realistic, but may have a steeper learning curve.

Things are ever-changing and a map of the sky with the moon, stars, and planets is NOT MADE to compensate for the changes that are occurring... it's made to give you something that is CONCRETE and never changes year after year... If there WAS a Nibiru or Planet-X, Stellarium sure as fuck ISN'T going to be where you see it, get it?

It compensates for ZERO changes over time. If you don't understand, you're not on the same level.

US earthquake map is an example of this.. how the fuck do you think a U.S. agency gets readings from an earthquake in Japan the same moment it happens? Does your mind imagine the U.S. to have scientists there reading it as it happens? NO.

Excellent question OP.. I have thought the same thing about other sites/software. And, I read some info on this 'secondary' internet that has been developed by so called
independents. I think they are infiltrating the geek squads across the world having them develop alternative programming and new software only to take over and use for their nefarious deeds.

Hardly saying the OP is incorrect as I praised the OP offering evidence and agreed that the size of the heavenly bodies were distorted. In addition, I provided evidence to support the OP's claims.

Science is an inquiry-based system of learning. Challenging ideas by providing evidence is the way we discover the truth. I'm hardly slowing down anyone's progress.

If you doubt the authenticity of astronomy programs, then how will you track the myriad stars and planets? By guesswork? By your own beliefs? What solution are you providing?

On the other hand, I both provided evidence and found an additional free software program for people to use, one that has higher amounts of realism. Like any good scientist, I hope that people discover discrepencies. If they do, then they should publish their evidence so we get closer to the truth.
