It is only because the fire is for an area short of the mountains that the men are not killed. 1,000 years later they are perfected saints so they can have the fire pass over them and they are not harmed, that is when they are sin free enough to meet God and not perish. The OT fallen angels were active for 1500 years so maybe they only had children for the last 1,000 years and the first 500 years was just married couples having 100 children each and that growth rate would have the couple die at 120 years old.

The 1,000 years also sees Jerusalem turned into a 'glorious city' and the land of Israel turned into the 'camp of the saints' so that when Satan and any remaining fallen angels are let loose from the Pit for execution they come on a land that is the restored Garden as in Ge:3 and this time the tree of life is productive because the city that has the House of Prayer also has a river of living water coming out of it and that was missing back in Ge:3.

With Satan gone, the GWT events can take place and then the new earth can start as place that starts out perfected and remains that way for eternity.

Adam means man. Adam begat Seth.
Seth means appointed (taking Abel's place who was slew by his brother Cain.
Seth begat Enos (mortal)
Enos begat cainen (sorrow)
Cainen begat Mahalel (the Blessed God)
Mahalel begat Jarod (shall come down)
Jarod begat Enoch (teaching)
Enoch begat Methusala (his death shall bring)
Methusala begat Lamech ( the disparing)
Lamech begat Noah (comfort)

Man appointed mortal sorrow, the Blessed God shall come down and teach the disparing comfort.
