I have never seen anywhere in the bible where it says heterosexuality is a requirement for salvation. It does say a man shouldn't lay with another man as he would with a woman. So some can take that as meaning gay sex is a sin....but even then, we are all sinners. Whose to say their sin is worse than mine, or yours? I dunno, everyone can believe what they want, and have their own opinions....it's just my opinion that we spend too much time worrying about homosexuality. You cannot make the Holy Bible into a book to suit yourself... I believe that is what they are doing... No one can truly repent unless God is pulling the strings. You don't really think you *chose* God, do you? The 7 Universal LAWS given to NOAH have not changed... THE 7 LAWS 1 Acknowledge that there is only one G-d who is Infinite and Supreme above all things. Do not replace that Supreme Being with finite idols, be it yourself, or other beings. This command includes such acts as prayer, study and meditation. 2 Respect the Creator. As frustrated and angry as you may be, do not vent it by cursing your Maker. 3 Respect human life. Every human being is an entire world. To save a life is to save that entire world. To destroy a life is to destroy an entire world. To help others live is a corollary of this principle. 4 Respect the institution of marriage. Marriage is a most Divine act. The marriage of a man and a woman is a reflection of the oneness of G-d and His creation. Disloyalty in marriage is an assault on that oneness. 5 Respect the rights and property of others. Be honest in all your business dealings. By relying on G-d rather than on our own conniving, we express our trust in Him as the Provider of Life. 6 Respect G-d's creatures. At first, Man was forbidden to consume meat. After the Great Flood, he was permitted - but with a warning: Do not cause unnecessary suffering to any creature. 7 Maintain justice. Justice is G-d's business, but we are given the charge to lay down necessary laws and enforce them whenever we can. When we right the wrongs of society, we are acting as partners in the act of sustaining the creation. Marriage is an important institution (to say the least) From the Rabbi's of the Babylonian Talmud. Babylonian Talmud” – the book of rabbis’ interpretation of the scriptures 1,000 years before Christ, there was only one time in history that reflects where we are right now. There was only one time in history, according to these writings, where men were given in marriage to men, and women given in marriage to women. Want to venture a guess as to when? No, it wasn’t in Sodom and Gomorrah, although that was my guess. Homosexuality was rampant there, of course, but according to the Talmud, not homosexual “marriage.” What about ancient Greece? Rome? No. Babylon? No again. The one time in history when homosexual “marriage” was practiced was … during the days of Noah. And according to Satinover, that’s what the “Babylonian Talmud” attributes as the final straw that led to the Flood. I see what you're saying, but it's already written, the wrath is coming. God saw into the future when the books of the bible were written. Since it's already coming, and we can't avoid it, wouldn't it be better to try and welcome gays into the kingdom of God rather then constantly talk against them and push them away? If we constantly tell them that they are bad, evil and other things, they would naturally run the other way. Why not try to welcome them instead? I don't mean to condone the sin, but to be honest and let the person be changed by the Holy spirit from the inside out in his/her own time because it's really between that person and God anyway. That's my thoughts. |
