I had a site for dopplar radar do the same sort of thing, I believe it was a recent addon or wrong setting in the about file, forget which one exactly

In XP there is a 'hosts' file in the system folder, maybe it got firewalled by that file

OP.....

Links in will not open a new window or tab in Windows 7 IE8

Worth a shot.

I'm using Firefox.

The tabs open fine, it just puts a GLP address before the link address and just sits there.

Try doing it anyway.
IE is linked to all kinds of crap in Windows.

I'm not using Explorer. I'm using Firefox.

What's weird is it only behaves like this on GLP.

All other sites external links work fine.

This is an example of what I get when I click on outside links in threads.

I was on here last night and it was doing the same thing. Turned everything off and went to bed, turned everything back on this morning and it's the same.

So yes, I tried that.

This is only happening on GLP all other sites work fine.

Explorer is even worse. Takes me to a 404 page if I click on any outside links in the thread.

Voting does the same thing, takes me back to the main forum.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30047466

what has happened is two things [glp protocol i guess] your java script has been rolled back and your adobe flash followed it, go to control panel and manually update javascript

then google adobe and install latest flash, both are free and as safe as anyother corporate progs

happened to me about 9 times exact same

thats how to cure your prob

Re: My computer settings are messed up, can someone help please?
I can click any link in the main forum and it will open but if I try to click any links inside the thread it just takes me back to the main forum or does nothing at all.

Another thing that's weird is that as soon as I click to vote on the thread it doesn't count the vote and sends me back to the main forum.

Also, outside links inside the thread won't work for me. It puts the GLP address before the outside link address and does nothing.

Can someone tell me what's wrong please?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30047466

Its not your computer settings, many of us have this problem. its something here plus the really slow internet right now. I noticed myself almost no links from inside posts work.
