We gave up TV over a year and a half ago and it has been absolutely wonderful. However when others ask you about this and that on tv and you're reply is that you don't watch tv they will be flabbergasted and think you are weird. But who cares what others think right;) You are making the right decision though. WAKE UP AMERICA WAKE UP AMERICA "I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death." Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 19, 1776 "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it." Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 4, September 11, 1777 "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." -- Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President. "A majority of the people of the United States have lived all of their lives under emergency rule. For 40 years, [79 years now in 2012] freedoms and governmental procedures guaranteed by the Constitution have in varying degrees been abridged by laws brought into force by statutes of national emergency." |

That was 8 years ago. I never got another. You will soon start to be clearer. After a while it will just annoy you when you see it. You will realize just how much of peoples lives are centered around TV. And you will see just how much of peoples conversations are about TV. Good luck OP. One of the best things I ever did. |

Any how our library has a sale once a month and sells these extra books for .10-.25 each. I would find a library close to you that may be doing the same thing and load up. You could easily get a years worth of books on things that interest you for next to nothing. Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say,“Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them. It was like a thunder and lightening storm was going on in my house. It made me sick actually to see it. I walked in the house and turned it off. I watch and rent the odd movie and thats it. |
