School Lockdown (Haltom City) Multiple PD officers are responding Code 3 to Birdville Elementary at 3126 Bewley for a reported person with a gun. School has been ordered on Lockdown. North Richland Hills and Watauga have police responding emergency response. The Shannon Learning Center has also been ordered locked down. All traffic shut down aroud the Schools.

Hopefully it's a false alarm.

True...I'm trying to think about this logically, because my kids are in school and some of this stuff that's going on is really scary. Like I said in another thread, I don't think some giant rock is going to come smashing to Earth on Dec 21 or anything like that...but with so many unstable people thinking it's "the end", and now possibly dealing with weirdo copycat shootings AS WELL, it seems there would be more risk sending the kids to school than usual. I'm not trying to become paranoid, but I'm debating keeping them home on Friday if nothing else.

Keep the fear at fever pitch and that way they can get their gun control.

I don't believe the world will end on Friday either....BUT with the school shooting and copycat fearmongerers and the fact that there is no telling what crazed people might do on Friday because they truly believe the world is going to end, my daughter will not be in school that day.

Heh, I know on here anyone could be any gender but yes...I am all girl, lol. I am probably going to call them off, but at the same time I don't want them to think I'm "nutty"...so trying to think of an excuse that would get all of them out as I would need to call them in.

What it's "come down to" is that any mentally unstable loser can walk into a Walmart or Gander Mountain or Cabela's and walk out minutes later with an AR-15 assault rife and a case of armor-piercing ammunition, then go shoot up a school.

I think it's time for more people to HOMESCHOOL

Hopefully this latest tragedy does not spawn a rash of copy cat shootings, thank God X-mass vacation is a few days away
