What is Love?
LOVE

What is Love? Some say it’s a chemical in the brain that makes you feel good, but is it really? I mean if you spank and discipline your child because they misbehave is it because it feels good? If a parent disciplines a child do they not do it out of Love? If Love is just a chemical of pleasure then why when a parent spanks a child is it usually Unpleasant to both the parent AND the child?

Of course when a couple has intercourse it’s often called “making love” but can’t you have intercourse without love or is the act always love? Some people have said they have died and come back and that everything was beautiful and they were surrounded by love and were happy but isn’t Love more than just a “feeling”? Can’t feelings lie to you? Which are more important, the pleasant feelings or the intent and purpose?

Most people have the wrong idea about Love itself. Love is NOT a “feeling”; Love is completely separate from the flesh and selflessly reaches out beyond the flesh from the spirit and holds on to and protects what is truly important…

Love is Spiritual (thoughts and ideas are also spiritual)
Love is Intent AND Purpose
Love makes selfless sacrifices
Love Teaches AND Reproves
Love Gives AND Provides
Love is Charity
Love is Truth
Love Saves
But watch out: [link to www.jesus-is-savior.com]

Want to know Love incarnate? Jesus Christ, the only Begotten Son of God IS LOVE incarnate and He performed the ultimate act of Love. He laid down his life and suffered and died for us all (he could have saved himself but He didn’t) in order to save us all from damnation because of our sin and all you need to do is accept and believe in Him and put your trust in Him for your salvation. Go here and know True Love --> [link to www.jesus-is-savior.com]

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." -- (1 Corinthians 13:1-13 KJV)

Webster...

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26

One of the reasons for posting this is to help people discern what is True and what is False.

Just because you may have a near death experience and it was wonderfully beautiful and you felt happy does not mean it was legitimate or real.

Well, it's more like both you and them are priceless and you are not willing either would be hurt BUT that because of your CHOICE to give up your own safety for another is BECAUSE of Love and not the definition of it.

What love is:
Love is a verb, an action.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

These words are still beautiful no matter how often you read them...

1 But what about justice? I'm 'easily angered' when I see people doing wrong or lying all the time...so I should forgive them and forget it? So why do we need judges? Why doesn't a judge say to a criminal: "You didn't know what you were doing...I forgive you...go in peace"?

2 Once there was a big storm in the place where I live. An older woman fell and her head was full with blood. Before that I was shopping with my mother who is VERY SCARED in a storm so she wanted to go home immediately! When that woman fell, I ran to her instead of protecting my mother. Isn't that strange? I didn't THINK or FEEL anything. Why did I rescue that woman and abandoned my own mother whom I loved? Was that LOVE or just a kind of instinct?

The things that distort reality are opinions and feelings which you seem to be going by. That is not love.

Truth can only come from Love because Love will not lie to you in order to make itself feel good. Lying does not serve the one being lied to, usually it only serves the liar.

Anyone that can read the holy bible and say that it can blind and distort you are speaking a lie.

I am quoting the holy bible because it is True and established and full of Love, but you are speaking from your heart of feeling and opinion which can lead to lies and deception.

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" -- (Jeremiah 17:9 KJV)

ALL these things I tell you, not because I think myself better than you, or out of hatred or malice, but out of LOVE!

Re: What is Love?
What love is:
Love is a verb, an action.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails.
 Quoting: Salt

More accurately...

Webster...

CHARITY, n.

2. In a more particular sense, love, kindness, affection, tenderness, springing from natural relations; as the charities of father, son and brother.

3. Liberality to the poor, consisting in almsgiving or benefactions, or in gratuitous services to relieve them in distress.

4. Alms; whatever is bestowed gratuitously on the poor for their relief.

5. Liberality in gifts and services to promote public objects of utility, as to found and support bible societies, missionary societies, and others.

Re: What is Love?
In a nutshell acceptance. Loving people for who they really are. Loving them in spite of being a flawed human being as you yourself are. Loving them even if they lie, betray , or neglect you. That is why so many relationships fail today. It is easy to love someone when the play the part the way you think they should.

It can't be acceptance as a definition because who would out of love accept a rapist raping someone right in front of them?

In other words there are things that Love will NOT accept for the sake of others and even for the sake of itself.

SO, as a conclusion to this point if I see someone being hurt or about to be hurt then out of love I will warn them even if they may not like it. e.g. If I know they will die in their sins and go to hell if they do not believe in Jesus Christ then I will try hard to convince them and to get them to repent their mind towards the Truth that I know to be True.

Well, ignoring people has nothing to do with LOVE...

You may be blinded by your own great words so your ego can't read clear anymore...

Jezus would not have made any difference in answering Mods or AC's, friends or strangers...

Yes...what is Love?

whatever

Did Jesus recognize the witches who knew true love? The priestesses who did? The alchemists who did? The scribes who did? The oracles who did? His own followers who did not?

I bet He could, and I bet most of His followers forgot how to long ago.
