SevenThunders User ID: 15851599 United States 01/14/2013 08:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I thought the speech was really strange. I love Jodie Foster. I think she's the cream of the crop as a female lead actress. However her lifestyle choices have consequences. Loneliness, depression and mental illness are common among those who succumb to homosexuality. Just as God inhabits the praises of the saints, demons inhabit the sins of man. That's why there are so many negatives associated with these 'alternate' lifestyles. Given the fact that Hollywood and our pathetic brainwashed culture virtually worships perversion, I don't understand the source of her anger. Why does it really matter these days what her sexuality is? Even if she is caught up in lesbian behavior there is no upside to making a public announcement, but neither would it hurt her career in any discernible fashion. The more interesting speculation is the wild rumor that she is actually a major witchcraft practitioner. Perhaps that is the source of fear in the faces of the A-listers. With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible |

I am not a sheeple whatsoever... I don't watch TV, I rarely watch movies... I definitely haven't tuned in to any award show on the planet since I was a kid. So definitely don't think I eat up media like a fly on shit... I do not. But this speech Foster gave at the Globes the other night? DOUBLESPEAK. This is a big deal... sure, it's way down the ladder, and practically just gossip among the peasants (hollywood actors aren't paid shit compared to the big boys, Madonna's net worth is a meager 650mil)... BUT... it shows something is up, something serious... and look at the faces of others in attendance... Mel Gibson for example... 4:38, read his face (yes I understand they're actors) and tell me he doesn't think what she is doing/saying with this speech = fucking serious. The last 2 minutes are most important. You can see it on a few other faces as well, they knew what was really going on and what she was really saying... and who she was really talking to. Eyes and ears, ladies and gentlemen. [link to www.youtube.com] She is the only star, that I can recall, that has made it from childhood to adulthood without becoming some manner of statistic. In other words, she held her ground. Drew Barrymore can't even make that claim. She has a lot of class and guts as far as I can see and she has the scars to prove it. It is very difficult to be true to yourself in Hollywood and I think she has do a remarkable job over the years. She is one of the most authentic actresses I can think of. duncog2012 |
Anonymous Coward 01/14/2013 08:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is bigger than their careers, is the feeling I'm getting. And maybe part of it is that now they see too that there is something bigger than those careers. Like they are trying to process shock maybe. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32110844 I am not a huge Jodie foster fan but this moved me and it moved every person that was listening in that audience. It was very cryptic but it was also very easily understood. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24367806 Someone said it before. We all know or feel something is coming and these people appear to be visibly moved in deep, emotional ways. More so than I have ever seen before. We can see it on them because we have watched and enjoyed them for many years. Quoting: duncog2012 All excellent observations... especially the piece in bold... you made a good point, duncog2012. |

The fatter the check the less motivation they have to get up and get off of it". My husband and I looked at each other like -- hey, what was that doing in there? Maybe she keeps her private life to herself more and more because she's not as liberal as the others? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 32223499 United States 01/14/2013 08:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She's 50. She won a lifetime achievement award and felt like the prom queen. Values her privacy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32036212 She hoped her mother (inside those blue eyes somewhere) would hear hear that she loved her and could let go when she felt ready. She is gay but came out back in the stone ages. Thanks Cindy her co-parent and their children in their modern family. Thanks Mel Gibson for saving her. Miss anything? It may be just me, but isn't 50 a bit young to be receiving a lifetime achievement award. At 50, she's got a least another decade in her. Aren't folks usually retired and on their DEATHBED when they receive these? That would be a "WTF" moment for me, if I were her. |

Her speech didn't seem to stand out up until the very end. The part about her mom made me :(, and the rest of it, I just took it to mean that the different "talking stick" just meant she probably wouldn't be in front of the camera doing the "talking," but instead, behind the scenes. Beginnings are scary, and we all have them, I don't think much can be read into that. 50's obviously a milestone, and probably an emotional one. The "lonely" part made me sad, but I'm sure Hollywood's a very lonely place. Maybe I've missed something... "I don't have pet peeves; I have major psychotic ******* hatreds, okay. Very odd and a somber mood among the audience--like they were at a funeral. And she does look great at the age of fifty! Most everyone knew you were gay from way back in the '70's! Didn't change a thing for most of your fans. We knew, we didn't care. You were still a damn fine actor! I agree with you...I am sooooo sensitive to just about everything, and feeling that SOMETHING is going to happen. I almost can't stand it sometimes...I feel like life has taken a crazy turn, and there is no control over it. And I don't just mean my life, just LIFE in general. It is weird. |

I usually do not watch TV. My impression was that she was announcing some kind of terminal illness. She could be ill and others know. Also why they gave such a young person the award.? Really 50 is not old. Imagine them giving this award to Tom Cruise who is exactly the same age. ruser |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 32223499 United States 01/14/2013 09:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The 'privacy' she's alluding to is the have your cake and eat it bullshit a lot of slebs are trying to push, they want mega fame, they want fans, but they want a private life. It don't work that way, you go into fame, you give up privacy. She was put into it by her mother, so I guess she never consented, but ultimately, she's coulda walked away as an adult. She is just a precious luvvie, like they all are and her whole speech is just precious luvvie 'me' crap delivered in that 'you can trust me, I'm Jodie Foster' voice. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18261962 The most telling part of the interminable display of self is when she tells the audience she's 'losing it'. You can see they agree by the completeley aghast looks on their faces. Appalling creature. This is why they used to have these hooks on a long stick in vaudeville, to yank these hams off stage. |

I liked her analysis, I think she's made some great points, like when Jodie says 'I came out a long time ago' Sista Sissie says she's telling people shes a fallen angel, they came here a long time ago, haven't got the time code, but some of her analysis is pretty sharp. |
