Maybe or maybe not, this happened in Texas. Texas penal code gives alot of room on how people respond to dirtbags fucking around on their property especially if it's night time. Have a look at it.

While I abhore the destruction of private property in this mindless senseless practice of "tagging" as they call it... I also think this judge's sentencing was absurd. In eight years we're going to get back a hardened criminal who has probably been sodomized nightly for the past eight years whether he wanted it or not. Wonder what kind of anger against society and acting out that set of facts will engender from this kid?

Then there is the fact that in Texas it costs them about $50k per year to keep someone in prison. So his little stay in prison - getting raped nightly and learning his new trade of master criminal by day - is going to cost the taxpayers of Texas a cool $400K for that eight year vacation in sodomy land.


Would have made more sense to make the kid work (for free) for the contractors who are going to do the clean up of his mess.

I figure all those corrupt banker belong with bernie madoff but that has nothing to do with this fellow's crimes. He's an adult,he fucked up and my sympathy is with the people whose property he damaged. What if they can't afford to have the graffiti removed? Then whatever city they are in will dog them and eventually come and remove the graffiti for them. then the city will charge big bucks for the service of removing it. So these poor homeowners and business owners get screwed. If you say their insurance will pay for it then I guess it might but what if it affects their rates? The victims deserve support not the criminals.

No possibility for early parole, no good behavior, nada. The kid will do the full eight fucking years for graffiti... I am sure he would have been more than happy to pay the 8,000 dollars in damages back, for a much more realistic sentence...

I would never do something like this, but it truly seems excessive.

8 years is out of line. That isn't justice by any reckoning.

He could pay off the damages with interest in a year or two or three.

Instead he will have a felony and 8 years in prison. That can't be right.

I'm a law and order guy but this is bullshit. The sentence is way out of line. Do Texas taxpayers know how much it'll cost to keep this kid locked up for 8 fucking years? For tagging?!Are judges elected in Texas? She looks to me like she's grandstanding. I'd be shocked if an appeal didn't lower the sentence.

6 months in county, with any time served, restitution [he probably has no $] and probation. That's would be an appropriate sentence

My felon neighbor and his felon son road raged a guy, he and his son chased a kid down the road at over 100 mph, caused the guy to flip his car into a ditch, it landed upside down. Then they pulled the poor sod out of his wrecked car and beat him so bad in the face that the dad broke his hand.

They got 6 months in jail! WTF!
