Do you not know that thats a disk in the center so they can photo the flares coming off it.

You are most probably seeing the difference if you are watching it everyday, it does look dark, but we will never know what it looks like before editing. Nice picture of the sun enjoyed looking !

COR1 and COR2 are white-light coronagraphs.
They study the Sun's corona, which they couldn't do if the the much brighter Sun itself were in the frame.
So what you're looking at is NOT the Sun.

The Sun is behind the black disk and would be the size of the white circle.


That is a different camera.
HI1 and HI2 aren't even pointed at the Sun. They image the space between Sun and Earth.
