Comet ISON Time Lapse in Infrared as well as Visible Light!!!!

Aye' Astro...I'm having trouble on what to think of this matter, Nasa says it won't hit, but other do...What do you know? Or think?...(I apologize for posting on a seperate thread, I just didn't know how to get a hold of you otherwise)

These telescopes can film a grapefruit far away or to photograph ants walking in the moon surface, but these are good images anyway.

Folks, wait until next September-October to watch this cosmic animal ravaging Mars during its close passage.

ok Astro, little test for you. Take a screen shot of the video and mark where the hot pixels are supposed to be on the Wow! first video of comet ison and post back.

"It is definitely noise **** - if I overlay the frames directly, the dots are in the same place. The original frames were dark frame calibrated but I'm guessing the temperature varied throughout the shoot so some got through. I'm on a location shoot at the moment so no access to the originals at the moment but feel free to quote me.

Oh, so the guy who took the fucking pictures isn't good enough for you? Seriously dude? I'm not going to waste my time pointing out every single hot pixel in his images. THE DUDE WHO TOOK THOSE PICTURES CONFIRMED IT'S JUST NOISE!

Thats the response I expected. Hot pixels dont travel across the screen at the same speed and direction as the comet. Im sure you wont waste your time because you cant prove shit, you have to rely on someone else's word. You need to quit being butt hurt all the time when people call BS on your posts. Maybe do some more research yourself instead of relying on other people.

The images are aligned on the stars, the hot pixels are stationary but appear to move in the animation after alignment. I know this from personal experience.

No, but he is the photographer and it's quite telling that you ignore him. Fact is they're hot pixels; they show no point spread function, they are not real objects.

Did you hear about that atroid that hit russia today?
And if so, did you know about it BEFORE it actually happened?...Where did it come from...That's scary...Not to mention tonight is the night the other astroid is supposedly supposed to pass us by...



And what in the hell is this...Did you read about or heard of the astroid in 2014?...

In conclusion...My questions are-

Did you know about the astroid that hit Russia before it actually happened, what was the deal with that?

Is the astroid tonight still going to safely pass us by today, as it's supposed to? But why did a astroid hit in russia the same day one is supposed to miss?

Also, what is the deal with that bullshit astroid in 2014?
That's 2 miles wide?

2012 DA14 has already passed the point of closest approach and is now on the way out. The meteor that hit Russia was not detected beforehand; it came from the general direction of the sun and there was no way to find it before it hit.


That's quite an old discovery. It's pass in 2014 will only be 0.12832 AU. That's quite a bit farther away than 2012 DA14. The thing is when you first discover an asteroid you still have a lot of uncertainty in the orbit and it can lead to open possibilities for impacts at future dates when in reality once you refine the orbit you find it won't even pass all that close.

I'm not familiar with the UA decimals and what not what does that mean?...You keep saying "It's not going to get very close"...That statement and the way you word it scares me astro...I'm used to you saying. "No, everything will be fine" or "It won't hit us." How far away is it REALLY from us...And the way you word it worries me...

what people need to realise is if Nasa know about it, and they say it WILL miss, miss it WILL!

That's 19,196,066.7 km. It's over 10% the distance to the sun.

1 AU is 93 million miles, 0.12832 AU is about 11 and a half million miles

Hot pixels my hairy ^zz! There are objects Moving at exact same rate of speed and are lower and higher! Hot Pixels would be in same line of trajectory and close to previously eliminated pixels! Camera PRO Here I don't know much about space! But the camera claim is Cr@pol@! Need to Find and track this object again with better camera!!!

I tracked it with a camera costing thousands of dollars. How many comets have you tracked? I know what I'm talking about. There was nothing moving with the comet.

Thanks! It is still very dim. Current projections for its peak brightness have decreased a good bit, I am not holding my breath for it being the "great comet" we were originally hoping it would be. I don't know about the music, I just used youtube's new feature of adding royalty free music to my video. Listened to a bunch of awful clips till I heard one I liked that seemed to fit.

Thanks for the info, sounds a bit disappointing though. We will see what the future brings.
