I feel exactly like you do with my parents, especially my mom. Back in the 60s when they lived in the city here with my grandparents it was still a pretty decent and safe place, no urban decay or high crime rate. The city keeps fixing them up, making them pretty, planting flowers, giving it's inhabitants all kinds of free stuff, but attitudes don't change. MEMO TO UK CITIZENS (the real ones!)

Hilariously, they held a little protest a few years back, burning British and American flags. All decked out in their favourite Tommy Hilfiger attire without a hint of irony.
