My Pure Lab has Thrown up 3/4 times today, has eaten grass on walk, thrown up, 1 day only what do you recommend? I have Not Feed since walk,feed

Is he losing weight?

Listen to his stomach is it gurgling?

Op, cook your dog's food from now on. most of the shit that comes from China is poisoned and you don't feed it to your pets.

Try to get him to drink a little so he doesn't get dehydrated. He's probably eating the grass to make himself throw up. The best thing would be to get him to a vet.

if your dog isnt getting fluids take to the vet immediately, every time they throw up they get more and more dehydrated. very dangerous

Like people dogs sometimes get sick. Let him eat if he wants to, but he may end up throwing it all up again. Im guesing with a lab he'll eat wether hes sick or not, mine always did. If hes not better in a day or two call the vet. But chances are he ate something not nice and he'll be fine

First you want to eliminate that your dog hasnt eaten anything poisonous or bad for dogs-weedkiller, snailbait,chocolate ,raisins, human medicine etc.

a lot of dogs eat gross things like dead birds/mice/rats etc-sounds horrid-but when he threw up first-was there anything odd looking in his vomit?or was it bile colored?

When a dogs sick-they naturally wont eat food, they will eat grass to try get chlorophyll into their system.

It really depends how sick the dog is as to whether its just something odd its eaten or something more serious.

Is he/she lethargic/ sleepy or lacking its normal spark too?

also many commercial dogfoods are not good for dogs at all-theres was this thread here a couple of weeks ago regarding purina Beneful:

to strart a very sick dog eating again try a few things:

make a broth from chicken(organic please no chemicals or hormones) frames or bones.You can use beef bones or lamb but chicken seems to be easier to digest.

You can feed him just the broth as its full of protein and also rehydrates.

Also if he goes well with the broth-add some boiled chicken to the broth and some white rice.Feed in small lots.If hes going to bring it up you dont want him scoffing a huge meal.

Check for tape worm. My cat puked out a 14" tape worm right in front of my wife. Thought she was gonna die!

CALL Animal emergency and ask them what to do, a lot of times they will tell you.

Some of the clinics are private owned and you can work something out in the way of payments, they woudn't be there if they didn't love animals.

ASK THE CLOSEST EVET,WHICH TYPE OF CREDIT ACCOUNT THEY TAKE, THEN CALL THE NUMBER AND OR APPLY ONLINE, IT TAKES 5 MINUTES TO APPLY. They usually give you 6 months to pay off same as cash for those type of credit accounts.

Labs-notorious for eating ANYHiNg! Mine swalled a pair of magnets...threw up for days. Couldn't keep anything down. Only solution was the vet and surgery. Didn't know what she swallowed until the x-ray. My advice. If she/he isn't feeling better in a day or two...time to go to the vet. Don't wait....if something is bad and it perforates the intestinal wall...sepsis and death will follow.

You can also give dogs Pepcid AC (called famotidine). Look up on google how much to give. That is a relatively harmless way to settle his/her stomach.

Keep an eye out of signs of something serious: shivering, seizures. Check his/her gums to be sure they're pink. I don't think labs are a breed that gets "tied up" but that would be serious if it happened.

I think it was my dad that told me that dogs eat grass when they're trying to purge something toxic out of their bodies.

when my dog gets constipated he throws up, i give him one senna and next morning he is shitting like a goose feeling great. i will say a pray for your Lab.

Give your dog some raw chicken, bones and all, some plain white rice, a table spoon of plain yogurt, and a heaping table spoon of canned pumpkin. (make sure it's real pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling!)

The yogurt and rice will help his stomach distress.

This is commonly referred to as the B.A.R.F. diet. (Bones And Raw Food)

It's like health food for dogs.

My dogs are on this diet and it shows. The vets always think they are younger than they are; the bones clean their teeth;
their coats are shiny and they all have lots of energy. My 13 year old still acts like a puppy - just not as often as he used to. and it gives them the sweetest breath!!!

Approximately once a month, I pick up a case of chicken necks from Food City for about 45 bucks. I also blend up a mixture of garlic, apples, carrots, summer squash, canned pumpkin, and red leaf lettuce in a food processor and give them a heaping table spoon with their supper. Sometimes I add some cooked white rice, cottage cheese, or yogurt.

Do a little research on this. It's a wonderful diet and it costs about the same as regular pet food. It's just a little more labor intensive.

There may be lots of different reasons for his vomiting and he is for sure dehydrated. You may try to give him some water to the corner of the mouth by syringe (no needle) but be very careful to not suffocate him. Don't give him today any food because it will only make worst. He may be also in pain and needs Losec to calm down his stomach.

Sometimes vomiting is the only sign of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia which can kill dogs in 2-3 days. You cannot make diagnosis from a far, so please, take your dog to the clinic for check up and ask the vet for a blood test with Hematocrit included. Usually if dog eats something bad he would vomit one time and I think you said yours vomited 4 times and it should be of a concern. I would not wait till tomorrow.

i have a ten year old dog that has done the same every morning of his life.

he always pukes his grass at the back door, then eats his breakfast.

he has never puked up his food though.

Take a bunch of parsley and boil in filtered water (not in microwave). when it cools, put a very small amount of salt in it and give your dog about 1/2 -1 cup of it. Ease up to home made chicken soup with organic carrots and celery and parsley (no onions) and organic chicken and add rice. They'll eat when hungry.

Also, there's rumor of Beneful dog food causing sickness/deaths and they haven't recalled it yet. Avoid Purina products for now. We switched over to Blue Buffalo, have been giving our one dog natural Urinary Infection treats daily for about a week+ now and she's doing much better.

All bones except beef bones will splinter and can cause throat and stomach issues - I'd avoid those bones for now....

it most likely ate its own shit .... you can get meds for it at the vet it will fix the problem if not it ate a animial on your property

The reason the animals eat grass is to puke so that worked. Could be his dog food, try some Celtic sea salt, 1/4 teaspoon per quart of water.
