THE MIN WAGE IN USA WAS SHITTTTY. People - look at other countries.
All these anti min. wage posts make me think that GLP members are mostly conservatives - and they are CHEAP shittttyyy employers.


I lived in the USA for many many years and I have family there that work min. wage because that's all the businesses sometimes want to pay..the minimum.
If businesses had it their way they would pay people sweatshop wages.

$9/hour at least reflects the rising costs of living. $7.5/hour was a discrace.

And let me tell you...
In Canada, in BC, the min wage is $10/hour - and there are still many successful businesses and many many rich people here. Oh we also have state run medical, and it's awesome, and we also have state run employment insurance...and it all seems to work without the system blowing up. Yes, you can have capitalism with sound social structures.

USA should look up to it's sister up north, oh Canada ;)).

What jobs have been cut? Who has lost healthcare? People have gained insurance. They have gotten their freedom!

minimum wage laws create less jobs, just as rent control creates less housing. Get a clue, read a book, sweet cheeks. If I choose to work for 2 dollars an hour because I want the experience and the reference, I can't. This affects mostly young people and low skilled workers the most.

And now there's a healthcare tax component. Awesome!

You think prices wont change if companies must pay more? Making 9 will end up being the same as making 5 and hour.

Plus min wage jobs are unskilled labor. If you want to earn more, learn a skill or trade. Then you will be worth more.

we are the United States of America why the hell would we want to be like you?? in this country minimum wage is supposed to be entry level wages and NOT anything which our people support their families. keep raising it and teenagers will no longer get jobs and inoculated with a work ethic.

burger flipping jobs are not careers and by raising the min wage where is the incentive to improve? besides, i am not sure that flipping burgers is worth being paid 9-10 dollars?

most people who start out burger flipping move up in the world. It's a good experience and builds references. No one ever expects to "raise a family" at burger king. Thats the false narrative. It's not worth 15 an hour, I say that because a lot of places are actually paying 10 now because all the low skill workers are on unemployment and the kids are living off parents. So this idea that it's greedy people forcing others into servitude in insane. It really is a disease of people out of touch with reality.

Look around you, things are going great. Our economy is recovering. You're being deceived by the right wing noise machine.
