When our solar system was last at its current location in its orbit around the Milky Way, was the time when dinosaurs were walking the Earth.

Makes me wonder, did the Earth pass something during this time of orbit that killed all the dinosaurs?

An asteroid belt, or something more sinister?

Would that explain the increase in fireballs in the last year?

Something to think about. damned

A very good theory... as there were no astronomers about at the time to confirm it is hard to prove, but I'm wondering if they can date Asteroid impacts and if there a map/timeline of impacted Asteroids/meteorites.

It would be an interesting project to map them over time.

Sorry, should have cited some evidence:

Good information on our solar systems rotation here:

AND

The peak of dinosaur existence was 225 million years ago:

225 million years ago it was still the Jurasic period.
The Dinos died of 65 million years ago at the end of the cretaceous period.

So, it'll take us another 160 million year to reach that point in our orbit around the Milky Way.

From your first link:

"The last time we were in the same place in our orbit, dinosaurs were just starting to appear on the Earth."
