This drop occurred despite the background rate of rise, 3 mm per year, which dominates most of the 18-year record observed by satellite altimeters. Using a combination of satellite and in situ data, we show that the decline in ocean mass, which explains the sea level drop, coincides with an equivalent increase in terrestrial water storage, primarily over Australia, northern South America, and Southeast Asia. This temporary shift of water from the ocean to land is closely related to the transition from El Niño conditions in 2009/10 to a strong 2010/11 La Niña, which affected precipitation patterns world-wide. |

Quoting: Artlicious How can you make that statement if you do not know what the levels were from 59-80, or 39-60? First find out what the levels were for the period then tell us if they are being alarmists or not.. they is plenty of evidence to show that there has been much much less ice in the past. Great! Will you please link to it here so I can read about it, reseach and learn. Thanks! here is one for starters; [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] [link to wattsupwiththat.com] Thank You, I will read up on all of these... Artlicious (OP) User ID: 16923663 United States 02/19/2013 12:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Amazing the sea levels haven't changed an inch. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34757168 The water isn't washing up on Pratt Street in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, OR ANYWHERE ELSE. In other words, more eco-loony BULLSHIT. So you are saying the ice is not melting? Or that ice melt does not cause sea level rise? The later, I'm still debating with myself and reading everything I can. But as far as the ice melting goes, it's a fact, not BS. |
