Many of the catholic fallacies that had come under attack by Luther and others had no basis in the cannon that was used for say the King James Version were added at the Council of Trent. The Council of Trent added things like Maccabees and Judith and the books of the Apocrypha....so, who has been playing with the books of the Bible...that would be the Catholics. Take a look at YOUR catechism...things like "praying for the dead"...you will see that the reference is to Maccabees or something...not the cannon that came out during say the Council of Nicea.
