What Do You Consider To Be Most Valuable (Water, Gold, Diamonds, Food, etc) | |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 554016 Define valuable 1 worth a lot of money or 2 very useful and important So we need a clear definition for this poll to be accurate. My vote is time time is the most valuable thing to me. Absolutely, because time is money... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. My vote is time time is the most valuable thing to me. How come? Time does not exist. There is only the now. Only the memory's, thinking about tomorrow creates the illusion of time, and there for you experience it. It's nothing more then the absence of consciousness that creates the illusion. |

Right now its gold, now if something happens that changes the current situation I would change my answer. I think your question is too broad and needs some defining. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34356336 There used to be an old quiz. write 10 things you want down on a piece of paper. then count how many of your wants on your list, you already have. Most people exclude things they already have... these people will never be happy, and never have enough. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34854229 United States 02/20/2013 09:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I voted food, but I really think it's whatever you don't have. If you have tons of water but no food, then food will be more valuable. Really, the best thing to have if SHTF would be rural land and a big family or social circle that you trust to come defend that land. Say, for example, if the price for oil shot up 20x in the next day and food could not be delivered from agricultural areas to urban/suburban areas, the people there would be in big trouble. The food would run out in a few days and people would be scrambling to get it however they could. The roads would likely become blocked as people crashed or ran out of gas and emergency services were impossible. A guy with a few hundred acres out in Montana or even in the rural Midwest could live off the land for as long as it took. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 11256851 Canada 02/20/2013 09:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WATER We are water (2/3) with the brain "more" humid - 90%. From water comes Oxigen to have air... Who doen't care because is too accesible: - be happy is easy to get it: - be aware, is more and more poissoned and de-structured (made dextro instead natural levo "spiralled" molecules chain). You can add to the poll the LIGHT. This will attract thinkers and small autonomus devices called scientists... Sub is made from water, oil is not burning if pure, little water must be left, water burns at the environment temperature (above 0 C, anyway). Water is carried as clouds at no charge and it delivers to us for consumption, cleaning, air refreshment, ... Anything else listed has a conventional or habitual significance, not real need to live. WATER, WATER, WATER - such an amzing thing, living "matter" we are damaging and disrepect brcause seems to be so common stuff. What do you like? To go in the mountains - with singing springs; with white cover to decorate the stone and forests? Would you like to go to the ... sea? Water again. Who is spending good time in desert, in a cave, in space vacuum? Whereever you go, whatever you choose - the water is present to comfort you and ease the time spent in this phisical (perceived) reality. I don't wanr to talk about the amazing facts and discoveries on water, just to point: water molecule vibrates as a perfect shape of a triangular pyramid, upward as a ready to fly ship, downward as a receptor for light; mix them and will have a perfect shape and stable equilibrium between opposite tendencies, contrary forces - final harmony and happiness symbolized in it. |

Eventually we will need food... but we can survive for quite a while without food... But if we dont have water... we would die within a week... to me water is the most valuable because of the sheer "Can't live without it" aspect Water is my pick, too. Anonymous Coward User ID: 34804028 United States 02/21/2013 03:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really can't imagine someone choosing something above water... Without water -> Not able to sustain your body there for it's not possible to experience anything else. A bit of a pointless Poll if you ask me :P Quoting: Mindfulnesz not exactly pointless... example... the dude on the island has so much water it creates problems... what is more valuable to them is land, dry land. thats a legitimate answer. this poll isnt a bashing attempt... instead its a insight on what people think is more valuable. Knowledge is the most useful. Example, dude on an island probably has no water to drink. Unless he has the knowledge to desalinate the water. And yes, water is easy to find by anyone. Water that doesn't give you diarrhea and cause you to die of dehydration, not so much. Dirty water, even today is responsible for killing approximately 3.5 million people a year. Everyone who said water is the most important better have a plan to transport it if needed and clean it when it becomes contaminated. Same goes for food. How many of you who said food really know how to preserve meat without a fridge? |

We live off grid and believe me, without water you are royally screwed. Being able to turn on the tap leads to a wonderful state of blissful ignorance and all the gold, brass, knowledge in the world is worth diddly if you can't access water -- although a little knowledge of where and how to find it might help, obviously. That said, it's hard to just get by with one thing. We need lots of 'things' to survive and to thrive. You can survive on bread and water, but personally, I like to have internet access too. |
