I really doubt it is a money making scheme. It is a real reaction to the gun grab craze, people want to get their guns before the libnazi's ban them. I'm da party poopa |

All my IMR powder jugs say dupont on them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1430199 I don't know a lot about this subject, but "Dupont" raises a red flag..has anybody studied up on perhaps which members of Congress have a financial interest in Dupont?? I just think that would be interesting if that were the case. |

I wondered this for a bit, but they do seem determined to disarm you guys. This could be a wee bonus for them though. The gov over here pulled the same trick with fuel last year, it was all over the papers that we were days away from a fuel shortage, next day petrol stations are queued all down the street and some pumps did run dry. The shortage never came but the few days it was on the cards were a massive boost to the treasury. They're doing everything legal to slow/shut down gun/ammo sales. You can still find .223 but it's close to a dollar a round for brass case. AR's $1500 and up if your lucky. Spare parts, forget it. I see no drop off in demand. I did get lucky the other day and found 400 rounds of .22 Mini Mags at $8.99 a box of 100. |

Cerberus Capital Management Firearms — Acquired Bushmaster Firearms, Inc., from Windham, Maine native Dick Dyke for an undisclosed sum in April 2006, and purchased Remington Arms in April 2007. Under Cerberus direction, Bushmaster Firearms acquired Cobb Manufacturing, a manufacturer of large-caliber tactical rifles in August 2007. Cerberus also acquired DPMS Panther Arms December 14, 2007. Remington Arms acquired Marlin Firearms in January 2008. In October 2009, Remington Military products acquired silencer manufacturer Advanced Armament Corporation. These companies were combined into the Freedom Group. Cerberus made plans to sell its share in the Freedom Group on December 18, 2012, after the Bushman AR-15 was used in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. This decision was made due to a threat by a California state pension board, which owns a stake in the company, to dispose of stakes it holds in any firearms manufacturer that makes weapons banned by California state law.
