During a depression, assets and their respective value decrease.

During inflation, assets and their respective value increase.

This is the boom and bust cycle you hear so often.

So yes, during a recession/depression - stock tends to go up because of inflation. More printing = less purchasing power = more dollars for the same amount of shares.

I have heard the markets are crumbling everyday, can we wait until they are really crumbling please.

All while news of MI taking over Detroit. If a state needing to take over the finances of a major US city isn't warning enough, I'm not sure what it. Granted Detroit has been bad for a while, mostly because of its liberal politics, but still... Just think these leaders are in the same group as the leader of the US... what should this tell us?

I understand now why the more knowledgeable laugh when a newb comes into their field of study and begins feeling as if they are some canary in the coal mine.

We all make that mistake, eager minds seek knowledge. But regardless, things in all fields have increased in frequency. Some man made, some natural. And I think that helps obfuscate what is going on.

Nevertheless, although the market is volatile. 1-3% drops are comical. Especially on Friday, when most markets are selling and covering positions/calls.

This is typical and usual in a normal market. Ebb and Flow.

When we see consecutive days of 7% losses or more, than we have a problem. But you gotta take some gains or there is no profit. You don't marry stock!
