never had an account nor visit the site

I dont have an account but have landed on pages before.

Now I know to NEVER ever visit the stupid site
 Quoting: Philligan

It has nothing to do with visiting Facebook.

If you visit ANY website with a Facebook plug-in, regardless if you do anything with it or not, they track the page, the browser user agent details and IP address are associated with that page.

Visit here and see if your browser agent is unqiue:
[link to panopticlick.eff.org]

If it is, that's basically your fingerprint and identifies you for subsequent tracking.

I'm sure that GLP uses that for some of its banning algorithms.

One of my good friends claims to be just like most of us on this site, yet he LIVES on Facebook. Cannot stay off of it.

Basically a self-shrine to himself on there. Absolute bs
 Quoting: Philligan

There's a guy on there who is beyond obsessed with posting things about the Zionists. I kid you not, he posted things about them less than every five minutes ALL friggin day.

I do not know how anyone could do such a thing for so long without having a mental breakdown. The guy had to be an android. There is no other explanation.

I long desctivated FB and glad I did. I felt like I was in a spider's web and being observed. It creeped me out.

You'll see the 'like' button removed from sites (such as GLP) and most others that have social sharing.

At the end of the day, the spooks at home and abroad have access to all data anyway, but I guess this gives them plausible deniability.

If only Tor wasn't so bloody slow.

There are some url's to misleading websites names yielded by search engines, that clicking on them, redirect you to a Facebook page.

Stupid bait and switch moves to push more traffic through their corrupt website and mine data from your browsing.

In need of a face slap app, hah ha, kewl name for an app don't ya think ?

performs as it sounds.

Anywhere and everywhere you go on in the internet is tracked somewhere. Why do you think no matter what site you go to, one of the ads is often linked to another site you just recently visited?

Its not about if you visit the site in question. When you go to fox news, amazon or whatever webpage you will notice many sites have a plugin that lets you re-tweet or facebook.

The plugins all gather information in the form of complex advertising or to data harvest.

Let's face it, everyone is probably being track, even if you never go to facebook. If you are on the internet, you are going to be tracked some how.

Anonymous VPN is safer but not foolproof because many who have been hidden on this have been turned over if they do something illegal.

Re: Facebook finally admits to tracking NON-users also
In a series of interviews with USAToday, Facebook has finally revealed how it tracks users and non-users across the web, gathering huge amount of data as it does so.

Facebook officials are now acknowledging that the social media giant has been able to create a running log of the web pages that each of its 800 million or so members has visited during the previous 90 days. Facebook also keeps close track of where millions more non-members of the social network go on the Web, after they visit a Facebook web page for any reason.

So, I went on a search for a way to block these trackers and I stumbled upon an addon 'Ghostery'
works like a charm, is free, and also blocks every other tracker giving you an overview on every site who and what's tracking you. Pretty scary!

Every website and page that has Facebook embedded tracks you anyway, regardless of Facebook account or not for their government files.

Use NOSCRIPT and you will see how there are redirects back to Facebook on most sites.
....best to block the IP's at a firewall level that connect to Fecesbook.

Wise up. thwak

So what are they doing? Farming your cookies from other sites?

That should not be allowed.
