No like I said I don't own guns for self defense. We don't really have that option in Canada. Not unless you're job is especially dangerous or you are in some position where you might be attacked and the police won't be able to protect you. Pretty difficult to get authorization to carry. Only the gangsters get to carry....

There are a lot of other reasons to own a firearm besides self defense. In my case, I target shoot.

I have been involved in two situations, as a civilian/veteran, where I could have pulled the trigger in what would have been a justifiable shoot according to what a reasonable person might do when acting in self defense. Might being the operative word.

I chose to merely reveal my weapon instead like a rattle snake might warn an approaching threat. Persist and I'll strike.

On both occasions the aggressors heeded the warning and backed off. They went their way. I went mine. Not trying to play a tough guy. Just don't fuck with me and everything will be just fine.
