Thank you, GLP

Dear GLP,


I have been on GLP for quite some time now, on and off, and have seen it all.

I have seen threads and posts that are enlightening, educational, amusing, insane and sometimes downright bizarre.

I have seen conversations that have been gracious, heart-warming, interesting, sometimes mean-spirited and even downright abhorrent. But they've all connected people.

The fact that the world is here on GLP, citizens from every country, race, creed and lifestyle orientation, means that this site is something that unites us. Whether it's to slander one another, wish one another well or network for other reasons.

One of the most encouraging things I saw on here recently was someone whose spouse was gravely ill. Hundreds of people came together to offer their prayers and positive energy. That was beautiful and should be done more.

In closing, when I see such positive and humane actions I'm thankful to be a part of this community.

To everyone who keeps this baby running, well done. You should feel proud and inspired to have created something that has changed lives.

I've been around since the early days, and it was mostly American posters then, they've kept this baby running, without them, it would have flunked.

Now we're more 'international' but distinctly part of Western culture, I like to think we're the cream of the internet crop :)
