Actually, Ohio would be one of the first places to be struck if SHTF. In Miamisburg there is a nuclear storage facility, and a nuclear arms factory(even though they supposedly don't operate anymore). Also Caesar's Creek supplies drinking water to millions. Wright Patt is in Dayton, also there is an Army munitions storage close by.And there is the Ohio and Miami rivers, not to mention Lake Eerie.

No. Too far east. Having lived there for a couple of years, I can say that one advantage would be that most of the people there are dull-normal simpletons. If you are smart, you will be ions ahead of 98% of them. But again, too far east. Zombies will be flowing out of the eastern seaboard areas and Ohio is rural mecca to them. People need to get far enough away from all populated areas that it would be very hard for them to reach you. North and west is the route.
