Minimal federal government and individual rights are the name of the game.
 Quoting: Chainsaw Burns

What is the libertarian response to corruption in the market? If you want to limit governmnet to the point of only the courts and essential services, what is the answer to preventing corruption? For example: lets say I own a chicken joint and discover that if I use a slightly toxic compound to preserve my chicken I can save on costs. the compound might not cause acute effects but lets say it causes chronic problems. Who would keep me from doing this? Thanks for any input

Voluntary positive actions, and the consequential advertisement of those actions can go a very long way. For example, company x uses that toxic compound in their product and doesn't advertise or identify on the product of that use. In turn, company z, after doing research on their COMPETITION's product and it's ingredients, creates their own product without the toxic preservative using the natural, organic, and/or healthy angle(if you have ever shopped at whole foods you know how profitable that angle is). Therefore everyone is happy. Company x can still sell a cheaper yet slightly more toxic product. While company y can sell a slightly more expensive, but healthier product. Though keep in mind, lawsuits still exist in a libertarian society, so the probability of a company putting any ingredient in any ingested product without labeling it on the product as you see in our current situation (the ingredients list found on all foods/drinks) is highly improbable. So on the whole, the market and competition would prevent someone from doing that. Hope that helps. I will answer any questions you have.

Also, in regards to your first question; there will be corruption in all sizes and forms of government.
