We are at a mysterious fork in the road. One path leads to years, perhaps decades, of spread of a new type of influenza, occasionally making people sick and killing about 18 percent of them. It's not a pleasant route, strewn as it is with uncertainties, but no terror seems to lurk on its horizon. The other path, however, wrenches the gut with fear, as it brings worldwide transmission of a dangerous new form of flu that could spread unchecked throughout humanity, testing global solidarity, vaccine production, hospital systems and humanity's most basic family and community instincts.

It's a long article, but well worth the read.

China is obviously covering up the severity of this so we better hope it doesn't hop a plane and start spreading from person to person.

Google elderberries and their health benefits in preventing the flu virus from replicating.

This will probably hit in the late fall/early winter when people's vitamin D levels are low. So now is the time to stock up on vitamin D, and to find where the elderberry bushes are in your area. Elderberries can be preserved in a vodka solution (elderberries, vodka, sugar - vent once a day and shake.)Or elderberries can be made into wine.

Of course one would have to drink a little elderberry wine every 6-8 hours to keep the flu away. You don't need a lot, a small shot glass would do it. Not enough to get drunk, but enough to feel a little guilty about drinking at 6 am in the morning.

The air pollution in China is so bad where it blocks UVB sunlight from reaching people. I would not be surprised if many died from this killer flu if it caught on.

Vitamin D at the right dosage may be your best protection against flu. Maybe the combination of both vitamin D and flu vaccine may even work better but I haven't come across anything to prove that.

I don't know which one. Any hints? Life just doesn't afford me the time to read half of what I'd like to and a small fraction of what I should.

THanks.

As for the three waves, whoever is making projections seems to be basing them on the history of the Spanish flu that hit in 1918, FWIW. That's how it was.

Just ordered 4 bottles of elderberry extract for the preps. Just in case this does go hot.

I picked up the mutated flu that hit back in late December. Really sucked! I was very sick for 2.5 weeks & weakened for another month. Even now, my lungs are still not back up to full capacity.

Sucked enough for me, but I would NOT want the kiddos to suffer like I did -- or worse.
