It does make you wonder what may be in this when it gets closer. We never know what type of crap could be in the dust cloud from it. There could even be diseases or even some type of alien spores for all that we know. Who knows I guess we will have to wait and see.

Ummm. There are lots of scientific reasons that coments are discharged from the Oort cloud to the inner solar system. Lots of comets have been knocked off course and followed a similar path at a similar speed. It could just as easily be a nearby passing star that had just enough of a gravitational force that it impacted ISON.

When I read this article, it makes it sound like the asteroid collided with some underground water reserves in Peru that had arsenic in it. The impact of the asteroid brought these earthly poisons to the surface. It mentions nothing of alien bacteria from the asteroid being the reason people got sick.

As for this comet, unless it impact, any gases or harmful bacteria will burn up in the atmosphere.
