Depends on how many Russian troops are killed in all this. Putin may have to save some face if Russia suffers high casulities in the air strikes. Iran will commit no more than are already involved, they know it will be their turn next. And unless Assad can unify the country again using Israel as a common enemy no Arab states will come to Assad's aid. All in all he's probably fucked in this scenario.

hi, i added some more to my post (response to you above)....also the word palestine comes from philistine, which is what the romans renamed israel to after conquering it....it was to embarrass them. palestine is the anglicized version of the latin philistinia.

anyway, jesus was a jewish rabbi and had many jewish followers....the original "christians" were jews, many christians today have jewish heritage they don't know about. anyway, the romans would not have just killed jesus unless they viewed him as a threat (it is true some jews didn't agree with some of his teachings) ... messiah translates to military leader (or did back then) and the romans had enough problems with these hebrews who demanded a day off from work, etc. they saw jesus as a threat....esp. when there were converts from amongst their own to following him.

you won't read all this in the bible.

there is an interesting book (which i have also not read) about the battle at masada which was written by a jew who was imprisoned by the romans and who was tasked with writing the story of their victory over masada.

anyway, a bit OT now....but back to topic....some people believe God was so horrified when jesus was crucified that he fled the earth.

the messiah in the Old testament / torah is supposed to bring peace on earth. that is why most jews do not view jesus as the messiah bc he didn't bring peace on earth....his death scattered jews and tore them apart....rather than bringing them together as a people and bringing peace to the world. every jew i have met believe jesus was a jewish rabbi. no one denies his existence from whom i know.

Thanks for taking the effort to help me better understand. Yes I admit that I hold some grudges and the Jews with their holyland is one of them. In the end though, I would like to be an un-biased truth seeker.

My grandmother was a very holy worshiper of catholicism her entire life and she had a dislike for jews. It's ironic because she lived in Poland during WWII and would never forgive the Germans (and Russians) for what they did to her country.
