Thats pretty cool and creepy to look at!!

There are several areas, towns, etc that are under water in Kentucky via the creation of Dams.

I've always pondered what they may look like...

This gives a glimpse of what they may be like.

maybe not so corroded as this is salt water and that acts fast.

Thats actually a very good point! I must admit I had not thought about that.

interesting enough 'Oh Brother, Where art thou' is on TV at the moment... and it has a scenario of a flooded town in it.

Eerie and fabulous photos!

My son would consider this a photographer's paradise--this stuff fascinates him.

Thanks for the wonderful post, Chrit!

Nothing special, I just enjoyed the pics.

Snip; EPECUEN, Argentina — A strange ghost town that spent a quarter century under water is coming up for air again in the Argentine farmlands southwest of Buenos Aires.

Epecuen was once a bustling little lakeside resort, where 1,500 people served 20,000 tourists a season.

Nice...bump

:O

Must be spooky to wander around in a setting like that. Water is one hell of a destructive force of nature!

bump bump and 5 stars, Chrit!! Some of the pictures remind me of that poster with Obama standing in front of a similar-looking landscape and he's saying "My work here is done!".

It WOULD make a good "set" for an Apocalypse movie, wouldn't it?
