Greece Mulls “Debt Camps” for Taxpayers
"The government seeks a military camp to turn it into a prison for those unable to pay their debts: to tax office or social security funds"

I bet the citizens of Greece didn't sign up for this when they joined the Euro...

So, they are saying, if you get robbed and become poor as a result, that is criminal?

Or, if you don't agree to be robbed, that is criminal?

And do you notice there is not even a second thought by the Germans?

There is silence from the International Community as well.

So when people ask "How did Hitler come to power", just tell em to look towards Greece, Cyprus, and all the other Countries who were stupid enough to sell their freedom to a bunch of bankers.

resist
Question everything.....

While still believing in the overall good of humanity!

Listen! I don't feel sorry for Greeks, they lived high on the hog, for the last 50 years, with outrageous pay to employees, payed indirectly through IMF. I busted my ass in the USA for measly money. For typical $35k I was getting payed a greek was getting $120k, so I have no feeling of sorryness for them..

Hell with them!

We get the government we deserve. They voted the criminals into office to get their free stuff, now they will live with the consequences. Coming to Amerika soon, 0bama lovers of Democrat extremists.
The Right Policy is Always Conservative

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President." - Vaclav Klaus

They'd have to make it a work camp to make it profitable. Otherwise what's the point of paying big money to punish people for not paying their debts?

Now it is, after Greece was living high on the hog for the last 50 years. But alas now that they're bankrupted (presently in year 2013)(Greece), cause they payed ultra high salaries for their Government and Private workers for the previous 50 years. I don't feel sorry for them, the hell with them!

In actually, perhaps maybe "Uncle Scam/Uncle Sham with Uncle Boris" should pay me the moneys I was not payed well, while Greeks were being payed well through IMF!

Unless the Greek (or) Geek Government plans to force the prisoners to work at slave labor while incarcerated, it makes no sense. Look at it this way:

- You cannot pay your taxes that are alleged to be owed.

- So lets lock you up, now you cannot pay your taxes and never will be able to while incarcerated.

Being the Greek Government, what do we want and need more than anything else? MONEY!

It does make sense in the context that if you are a protestor/demonstrator and you owe taxes then we will lock you up.

That solves a problem, poof... no more protests!

Greeks own firearms (22 per 100) and yet they still have austerity and now debtors' prison.

Just like Cyprians firearms guns (36 per 100) and the banks/government still took their money.

Just like US citizens own firearms (88 per 100) but you still get Obamacare.

I don't think owning a firearm is relevant and mentioning it is just trolling.

Perhaps it would be wise to re-read Martin Neimollers poem:

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

If you think this is a Greek problem alone you are very wrong.

Greeks and Turks. Turks and Greeks.

The Turks have debt prisons. They send the debtors wife to prison and she works-off her husband's debt. On her back (or knees or on all fours). The state gets a piece of the action. In more ways than one. A big Fez-wearing pimp. Attaboy, Attaturk.

Look to Greece to follow. The birth of civilization. Oopa! Crushing Plato with EU charm. Yasou, Fido.
